Ungstrup (11075), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 12, 2005 An amber beer with a disappearing orange head. The aroma is slightly smoked combined with notes of caramel. The flavor contains lots of caramel as well as some smoke. The mouthfeel is very smooth, but the body is thin. A very easily drinkable and enjoyable beer. omhper (10438), Stockholm, Sweden Mar 29, 2002 Pale brown. Light bodied, softly malty with nice light smokeyness. I sampled this on draught at the brewery, and was only mildly impressed, as I found it a bit too subtle, and I would have preferred both a dash more malt and smoke.
Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 5, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Dark amber with a small, white head. Smoky nose. Lightly sweetish, malty flavour with pronounced smoked notes, a bit flat. Rather light body and a very subdued bitterness. Quite a pleasant "Rauchbier". 300605 Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Mar 15, 2002 Bright orangey-amber; Munich malts and a fresh smokiness like those chipotles I get in Kensington Market. Rich depth of stunning smoke; creamy, nutty, toasty dry malts. Masterpiece. Like Fischer-Greuth. joergen (6257), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 29, 2005 Draught.
