Off white head, clear amber body, dotty fluffy lacing. Malts, peat, tar, grass to the nose. Taste is quite malty, good fruitiness, notes of smoke and tar. Finishes fruity with smokey notes. Nice to my palate. Overall a good brew. [50cl brown bottle 4.7%abv BB10-09-2015 , T@Ferie2015]

On tap at Spezial in Bamberg. Light smoky smell, also bready malty. Similar light smoky taste. Clean. Full flavoured. I love the level of smoke in this, just enough.

At Belgrade Eighth Tasting, round two. Bottle. Gorgeous pour, fuzzy then turns brown. Good tan foam. Softer smoke aroma, a bit rich body, smoke is strong but balanced. A touch of salt and lagering sour, rich body. Very tasty.

Tapped. Appears deep amber slightly light body with nice thin foam. Smoked aroma is very rich and interesting - some paprica, ham, cheese and, of course, smoke. Thin body with lovely smoked finish.

*Old rating. Best before 26.04.12. Schön intensives Röstmalz-Raucharoma. Frisch malzig, nicht zu intensiv, schön tief. Der Hauptteil ist rauchig-malzig, intensiv, schön ausgewogen bitter. Lecker!

Bottle courtesy of Mortlach shared with Boban in Vranovo-Serbia. Thank you. Pours a fantastic dark Amber clear color, bright with a caramel bright appearance. Medium off-white head. Nose: Roquefort cheese, provola cheese, smoked caramel barley. Mouth: ouh boy! A smoked lager which kicks! Juicy cheese, smoked mozzarella. Bravoooo!!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

1/3 pint at BeeRoma 2015 (short rating, overall impressions only). Sweet paprika, cured ham and smokey sausages notes dominate this crisp and refreshing rauch lager. Volatile but satisfying toasted malts taste, togheter with a solid earthy bitterness. High drinkability. Well made.

At the brewery. The aroma is subtle smoke, caramel. Deep Amber, clear appearance. The flavor is slight smoke, caramel. The finish is smoky, salt, light noble hops. Excellent.

0,5 l bottle from Biermuseum in Cologne, best before 17/3/2015. Clear, amber with a huge, extremely fine pored, creamy, very slowly diminishing, tan head. Intense aroma of smoked beechwood, smoked ham or campfire. Some lager-grassiness hides in the background. Very appetising! Taste is even more grassy but still dominated by the smoke flavours. Medium long, very mild finish. Somewhat thin body, almost creamy mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Very nice, easily drinkable Rauchbier. Very harmonic and of real quality!
