Bottle courtesy of Mortlach shared with Boban in Vranovo-Serbia. Thank you. Pours a fantastic dark Amber clear color, bright with a caramel bright appearance. Medium off-white head. Nose: Roquefort cheese, provola cheese, smoked caramel barley. Mouth: ouh boy! A smoked lager which kicks! Juicy cheese, smoked mozzarella. Bravoooo!!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

1/3 pint at BeeRoma 2015 (short rating, overall impressions only). Sweet paprika, cured ham and smokey sausages notes dominate this crisp and refreshing rauch lager. Volatile but satisfying toasted malts taste, togheter with a solid earthy bitterness. High drinkability. Well made.

At the brewery. The aroma is subtle smoke, caramel. Deep Amber, clear appearance. The flavor is slight smoke, caramel. The finish is smoky, salt, light noble hops. Excellent.

0,5 l bottle from Biermuseum in Cologne, best before 17/3/2015. Clear, amber with a huge, extremely fine pored, creamy, very slowly diminishing, tan head. Intense aroma of smoked beechwood, smoked ham or campfire. Some lager-grassiness hides in the background. Very appetising! Taste is even more grassy but still dominated by the smoke flavours. Medium long, very mild finish. Somewhat thin body, almost creamy mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Very nice, easily drinkable Rauchbier. Very harmonic and of real quality!

Pours a walnut brown color, with a decent, froth, slightly bubbly head. Salt coated, bready malts, which got a honeyed peak to them. While the beer warms up, a gentle smoked note settles on top of the maltiness, adding up very well with the salts. Starts with salty, earthy malts and a good amount of smoked ham, while malts tend to turn sweeter, while drinking. Lively carbonation supports big waves of smoke, while only a whiff of salt shines through. Finishes with a short dry glance, then sweeter, toffeeish malts go well along with the smokiness.

Fra fat på bryggeripuben 9 Okt 14. Mørk gyldenbrun. Lavt skum. Svakt røstet aroma. Smaken har et lett røykpreg hvor malt kommer gjennom.

Vom fass at the brewpub, 500ml. Clear amber coloured body, beige head diminishing. Caramel on the nose smoked. Wood, caramel and smoked meat to the flavour profile. Drying malts to the ending. Medium bodied. Accepted (late night drinking in Bamberg 09.10.2014).

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Clear bronze. Film of white head. Smoky rubber. Very savoury. Taste is light sweet. Some dry. Body seems thin, given the imparted smokiness. Finishes with a little sweetness. Not chewy enough.
