Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!
Im Glas schauts schön rötlich dunkel aus. Geruchlich ists röstmalzig, der Rauch hält sich noch sehr zurück. Der Antrunk ist ebenfalls sehr röstmalzig, im Nachgeschmack kommt dann endlich der Rauch sehr gut zur Geltung. Wirkt im Ganzen doch sehr ausgewogen. Mit einer guten Süffigkeit glänzt dieses Rauchbier ebenfalls. Zwar nicht so gut wie der große Bruder Schlenkerla, aber dennoch ein kleines feines Rauchbierchen.

Clear brown with reddish hue, foam light brown. Nose is mainly malt, with some smoke. Taste is somewhat sweet, malty, smoked and some bitterness. Atertaste is moderately bitter, smoke lingers as well. A fuller version of the Lager.

Rated at the brewery/restaurant Nov 2011. Head is mostly lasting. Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately to heavily malty (caramel, toasted bread, nuts), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers), with notes of apple skin, smoked meat, peach/apricot, black tea, tobacco. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. I must admit the aroma is pretty amazing, and more complex than Schlenkerla’s Märzen (although the latter’s smoke character is more enticing). Watery mouthfeel, but very well-balanced and clean.

Bottled 500ml. -from some random shop in Bamberg. Clear amber coloured, small off-white head, light smokey nose. Smokey malty, light caramel and pancetta with mild woody notes. Simple and pleasant smoked beer.

Croatian November ’11 RB tasting, Ogi’s bottle, found in Bamberg. Nice coppery amber body, small off white head. Sweet smokey, malty nose. Nice smooth pancetta malty smokey taste, light hop, sl. (something else), slightly grainy. Light aftertaste. Expected it to be better, but it’s still very good stuff.

Pours a deep dark brown with a small reddish brown head. Aromas of liquid smoke, sardines, and firewood. Flavors of chocolate, espresso, and smoke. Nice dry crisp finish. Smokey aftertaste stays with you for awhile.

Red with a medium tan head. Smokey and malty. Malt, smoke and barley. Medium body with a dry finish.
