Draught at Spezial, Bamberg. Opaque orange beer with a thin head. There is quite a bit of smoke in the aroma and the flavor, which I believe comes from being near their smoked beer rather than actually being smoked itself. Sweet wheat, cloves, banana are all in there too. Made to a high degree of quality. Full palate, and the smoke works very well.

Aroma affumicato con una piccola percentuale di lieviti. Appare torbida lievemente marroncina, con molta schiuma abbastanza persistente. Al palato ingresso mediamente carbonato si riaffiaccia l’affumicatura (che gli dona quel simpatico carattere complesso e l’assurda beverinitŕ) di nuovo sfumata dall’aporto di lieviti fruttati. Ben bilanciata e, inutile dirlo, scende giů dal gargarozzo che č una meraviglia. Un ottima alternativa alla weisse affumicata della Schlenkerla.

The head is ok, the body very cloudy and big pieces of yeast are swimming around. It smells yeasty, a bit dry. The taste is wheat, yeasty, mild. Overall maybe a bit to yeasty. 11/10/11/10/-/10

Lahev ( REAL Bamberg) Slabší pěna, polotmavá barva, chut lehce nakyslá, po vajíčkách, tak jak to v německých pšenkách má být.

Draft. Pours amber with an off white head. Light fruity, medium sweetness, and a nice spicy yeasty finish. Solid.

Draught @ the brewery. Pours hazy orange with a big white head. Clove, orange and vanilla notes in aroma. Flour, orange, apricots and clove notes in taste.Slightly sour. Slightly smoked.

Tap @ brewery in Bamberg. Cloudy, somewhat dark orange appearance with an off white head. Orange citrusy, rich clove, banana yeasty, very nice wheat malty aroma. Tangy/lightly sour orange citrusy, rich yeasty banana, delicious wheat flavor. Nice Hefe!

Tap from the source, a dark and cloudy orange-brown with golden highlights and a rocky tan/cream head. Nose has some yeast and heavy Weizen character, strong banana but stronger clove, with a touch of smoke lining the edges. Yeast and lemon in the mouth, banana and clove recede a bit, but the smoke remains until deep into the aftertaste. Medium body, maybe a little slick, holds the alcohol well. A little masterpiece.
