COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boris pours black and opaque like a moonless sky over Siberia. Eight different malts bring a complex aroma and flavor of chocolate, coffee and roasty sweetness. And just in case the winter gets too cold, we brewed this giant spider to 10% abv. So grab you snifter and ushanka and enjoy. ты был укушен

On Draft at Bierkraft. Jet black in appearance, thin dark head that dissipated fairly quickly . Rich and complex without being to sweet or cloying, in fact this is moorish and intriguing. Dangerously drinkable. Can’t wait to try more beers from this brewery

I’ve had the pleasure of drinking this beer a number of times, most recently from a growler filled at Ronkonkoma Beverage. Pours a dense black with a moderate, luscious brown head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and laced the glass fairly well. Very pleasant aroma that is filled with roasted malt, cocoa and rich coffee. The flavor is just superb with ample roasted malt, cocoa, and coffee all harmonizing beautifully with no single trait dominating. Rich and full bodied. Luxurious on the palate. Abv is very well hidden. This is one spider that is welcome in my house anytime!

Dark pour with a thin head. I was unimpressed at first, but then I started to appreciate the subtle dark chocolate and malts. It may deserve a higher rating...

EBF 2012: black pour, small creamy dark tan head. Vinuous and roasty, full bodied, bitter dark chocolate on the finish. Very good, straight forward RIS.

A Mes rate. Bottle thanks to Paul.
Black body, chocolate brown head. Great milky chocolate and delicate roast coffee. Slight lactic notes, some fruit, some ink and rubber, a lick of alcohol but otherwise drinks well below its strength. Great bitterness in the finish and surprising length. Hint of black current in the fin

Growler from Garden City Bev Barn. Black with dense, lasting dark brown head. Very roasted even smoky espresso chocolate aroma. Roasted rich espresso chocolate very subdued dark fruit old wood ash cinnamon earth with bitter coffee ashy very dry finish. Very complex, very rich but not at all cloying and virtually no alcohol burn. Full but not syrupy. Among the best new beers I have had in a while and among the best imperial stouts.

On tap for growler fills at Half Time. Pours a deep black with a thin tan head. Huge roast with a hint of grain on the nose. Medium bodied, loads of roast and grain. Chocolate, more roast. Huge roast filled bitterness on the finish, chocolate and more big bitterness. Deceptively smooth and easy drinking for something clocking in at 10%. One of the most roast laden imperial stouts I’ve had.

Bottled. Pours with little head, slightly lighter brown around the edges. Great aroma, rich and peanuty, excellent roast, strong bitterness from the roast malt. Good body, thick but not sweet, with a bitter, clean finish. Excellent.
