3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: SEP 9, 2012 Bottle and draft. Pours dark amber with cream white head. Nose and taste of pineapple, biscuit malt, grassy hops, toasted caramel and light resin. Finishes dry with some resin. Medium body. - I thought the flavors came out better on draft and would rate slightly higher if I took notes on the draft version. This is from the bottle.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I’ve had this beer many times now. This rating is coming from the bottle. Pour is a hazy orange. Nose is lemon peel and hop cones and slightly soapy. Taste is light sweetness a touch of caramel, bread and peaches. Finishes with some nice dryness and hop spice. Tastes great especially on the colder side.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle to shaker glass. Copper amber color pour with a two finger khaki head that reduces quickly to a splotchy film with foam islands on top of the surface. Very bubbly with lots of bubbles soaring up from the bottom of th eglass. Aroma of citrus, juniper, and dishwater. Taste is very hoppy with a soapy citrus flavor followed by juniper berry. Resin flavors stay on the palate. Medium body for the style. A nice, hoppy, pale ale.

Bottle in NYC. Pours clear, copper-gold with a creamy, off-white head. Nse is all piney hops, toasty malts and subtle caramel, along with rich melon and soft grapefruit. Light to medium sweet flavor with strong, earthy and grassy bitterness, some toast, nips of burnt caramel, dried citrus, some tangy grapefruit. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Somewhat dry, somewhat resinous and sticky to finish, with tangy citrus and assertive grass. Nice.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle from Breukelen Bier Merchants. Dark clear yellow. No head or lace in a pint glass. Lovely floral and sweet ripe tropical fruit aroma....very full. Flavor is fairly bitter for a pale with just enough light malt sweetness to call it not out of balance. Hop flavors are primarily grapefruit and a little pine and fruitiness to round it out. Medium body with light carbonation. Great first effort and very nice added hop bonus for the style. GO NY!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz. bottle. Aroma of fruity, citric hop, very faint honeyish sweetness, with notes of orange and grapefruit, very fresh and floral overall with some faint malt in the background. Hazy light-medium amber color with a fine, lasting, off-white head. Flavor profile is nicely balanced, definitely has some nice hoppiness throughout, with very lightly pale, sweet maltiness blending in with the fruity, citric, flowery hop character and moderate level of bitterness. Mouthfeel is smooth and quenching with light-moderate level of effervescence and a medium body. Very good APA, nice work, Paul!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
In short: A very well made generously hopped citrusy pale ale.
How: Hand-bottle 12oz, given to me by one of the brewer, the ugly one. Very ugly
The look: Clear golden amber body topped by a persistent small beige head
In long: Nose is semi-ripe citrusy hops with grassy notes. Taste has timid toasted caramelized malts, light body with just enough malts sweetness to oppose the hopping. The malt sweetness left me with a hard candy sensation. Hopping is typical American IPA/APA citrusy hops with some grassy notes and also a bit resinous. Bitterness level is medium. There’s nothing original here but the execution is flawless and I wish all “entry level” APAs were that good. The opening of this very good new brewery is good news to me because I need to drink more beer… studies have shown that a lack of alcohol consumption may lead to sobriety and boredom.

A blonde ale with a thick frothy mocha head. In aroma, nice pungent butterscotch, caramel, and British hops. In mouth, a nice smooth biscuit malt with good bitter hops, nice and floral. On tap at TAP NY, April 28, 2012.
