This amber colored pale ale was the first beer we brewed together, so it was only fitting to name it FIRST BITE. Generous additions of American hops, light body and a dry.finish give it plenty of flavor and aroma while still remaining highly drinkable. YOU GOT BITTEN

12oz bottle pours a lightly hazy caramel amber with some sudsy, lacing white head. Nose is ok, citrus peel, blood orange, a little hay, a little dusty, grapefruit zest. Flavor is the same, something a bit like Orval which makes me think this is either an old bottle or slightly infected, heavy blood orange, dried lemon peel, a little ginger. Medium bodied, dry finish. Something a bit off.

12oz bottle from jtclockwork, thanks James! Pours a cloudy, copper-gold colored body with a finger-width, frothy and foamy, dirty white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma has a bready caramel sweetness with a good amount of grapefruit and melon. Fairly grassy with some florals and maybe a touch of toast. Flavor is similar. Lots of grassy, somewhat herbal grapefruits with a slight melon floral. Decent bready caramel malt backing with a touch of toast towards the end as this finishes very dry with a medium-high bitterness, but a light caramel to keep things in check for the most part. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid pale ale. Fairly bitter and dry with a good amount of grassy grapefruits and florals as well as a lightly toasted, bready caramel malt backing. Not bad.

12oz from the bottle. Sent to me as an extra from jtclockwork... I’m impressed. I popped it while updating my cellar tonight... and after not rating anything for over a year, this is what brought me back. A very nice Pale with a fresh hopped, citric finish. I’ll have to try more of their products.

kind of pale grape looking with a white head that fades in short order. my pineapple flavor was somewhat like latex paint. some hop and white grape, and mango must be the color.

Bottle courtesy of James. Pours a red/amber color with lots of head. Aroma is slightly pine-ish. Kind of thin. Taste is light and hoppy. A little thin in the body, but very drinkable. May be an older bottle.

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2012 Bottle with james, this one had to have been a little old so I need to try again when I can get it on tap or when it has a bottled on date. Notes were rusty pennies and copper, caramel, bitter hops going south, not memorable. Had a fresher bottle and the hops and tang were delicious. Nice bitter finish with a clean hop presence.

UPDATED: SEP 9, 2012 Bottle and draft. Pours dark amber with cream white head. Nose and taste of pineapple, biscuit malt, grassy hops, toasted caramel and light resin. Finishes dry with some resin. Medium body. - I thought the flavors came out better on draft and would rate slightly higher if I took notes on the draft version. This is from the bottle.

I’ve had this beer many times now. This rating is coming from the bottle. Pour is a hazy orange. Nose is lemon peel and hop cones and slightly soapy. Taste is light sweetness a touch of caramel, bread and peaches. Finishes with some nice dryness and hop spice. Tastes great especially on the colder side.
