tap at spider bite 1st anniversary Tap & Barrel - this kind of beer is a bit hard to pin point. The base is obviously a light stout - with dark toasted malts, a hint of chocolate and roasted barley. The nose is first gives plenty of bright, piney hops so the next logical conclusion is a black IPA. However, the smoked malts really come through as the beer warms up but, since this is apple-wood smoke, it never goes beyond a subtle backdrop to this expertly balanced beer. Smooth bodied, perfect balanced of roast, dark fruits and light campfire smoke. You won’t even notice the abv on this. Delicious.
