Nik925 (154), California, USA Sep 2, 2008 On tap at the brewpub, great upfront wheat flavor. Strong citrus notes, minimal yeast flavors (esp for the style). Lacking the metal flavors that come with poorly made hefes, this one was good but not amazing. IrishBoy (2163), Bakersfield, California, USA Jul 7, 2008 Draft at the brewpub; Nose of banana and light cloves; murky yellow-orange withe a medium, heavily glass-lacing, yellowish head; flavor is light cloves and nutmeg with banana; finish ligth hop bitterness. sersdf (867), chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 24, 2008 draft at alibi room in vancouver. naturally i’d pick the lowest rated thing... though it doesn’t look like CA beers get much love anyways. pours a hefty brown orange, super opaque, looks like plastic. minimal dirty head. smelled of bananas and cloves, no surprise there, pretty good. taste is very light, pretty watery. kinda wish i’d seen the sampler at the bottom before ordering 20oz of this. nevertheless, it’s been a while since my last drink and this is pretty refreshing, hard to complain. call me a sucker for a hefeweizen jcwattsrugger (4045), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Nov 2, 2007 @GCBF-on tap-pours a white head and hazy yellow color. Aroma is clove, musty/barnyard wheat. Taste is clove that fades and then banana, musty/barnyard wheat-some sweet. OK effervescence. BillKismet (1443), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 3, 2007 Rather flat, yellow appearance. Light yeasty & citrusy aroma. Decent, but mild flavors of yeast and light cloves. A refreshing mid-summer styled german hefe.
