ENGLISH
Glass, 5-ounce, cask, on the premise on April 27 2009; eye: golden, slightly hazy, slight effervescence, tiny ring of tan head, good lacing; nose: light malt, light hops, slight honey; mouth: rather carbonated, malt, light hops, light honey, finale in malt with light presence of honey, medium body, slightly grainy texture like honey that crystallizes, lightly sweet; overall: ordinary IrishBoy (2509), Bakersfield, California, USA Jul 7, 2008 Draft at the brewpub; Nose of slight sweetness and floral hops; clear gold with a medium white head; flavor is light hop bitterness and some sweet honey; finish lightly bitter. DuffMan (2548), currently living in NZ, but from, Alberta, Canada Apr 24, 2008 Hazy orange-tinted gold, big fizzy head, rapidly recedes, no lace. Slightly sour aroma intermingled with sweet malt. Fizzy mouthfeel initially, sweet malts are ruined with a sour puckering finish. I’m sure this bottle must be off. I notice most other raters have had this on tap-- I’ll have to give it another shot someday. jcwattsrugger (4908), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 17, 2007 on tap-pours a disappearing white head with bubbles and yellow color. Aroma is mild grassy, malt, faint sweet pine. Taste is grassy, honey, some grain. OK/mild carbonation. Beershine (2268), Bamberg, Germany Oct 13, 2007 A mildly fruity nose is lively, sparked by the honey. It’s slightly herbal too. Color is lovely, and although the head pours frothy it dissapates too fast. There is too much carbonation in this light-bodied beer. The aftertaste is nice, even a touch hoppy, but there really isn’t that much flavor here overall. Oakes (7618), Bamberg, Germany Aug 22, 2007 Bright pale copper colour. No head. Aroma has slight melon, honey and a little hint of malty earthiness. Flavour is mild - watery, even - with hints of honey and vague fruitiness (peach?). Really a quick, harmless trifle of a beer, like a Hugh Grant movie or an early Beatles tune. Nate (2466), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 26, 2007 Draught sample at brewpub. Very mild malt aroma with a bit of grain and honey and neutral fruity hops. Medium golden clear with white foamy lacing head. Medium bodied with medium-heavy carbonation. Not quite crisp acidic snap with beany hoppiness to start. Light honey taste with good hoppy but non-bitter finish. Mild honey after. Enniskillen (1857), Salinas, California, USA Jul 7, 2007 Gold, with a nice white head. Taste is sweet, somewhat bland, just honey and pale malts.
