3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap @ the brewpub. Copper orange body, thin off white cap. Caramel malts, a bit bready, with fairly light piney hops, a bit of metal in the finish. Kind of harsh after a few sips actually. Not one I’d come back to.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Spinnakers. This was pretty average all around. Looked good in the glass. Mild caramel, bready malts balanced with mild citrus and floral hops. Decent.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep copper coloured body with a thinnish off-white head, showing a bit of a hazy note. Aroma of light hops and grain with a touch of caster sugar and toffee, but not much else going on here. Medium-bodied; Strong caramel and toffee flavours at first with a good deal of alcohol and pit fruits and not much other complexities, but the malt hits hard. Aftertaste finally shows the smallest amount of hops with hardly any bitterness and a smooth sweetness at the tail end - this isn’t an IPA is it? Overall, poor for the style for sure, and only slightly better than a typical APA or Amber Ale - this isn’t good and I’m glad I drank it here and didn’t bring it back East. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Crosstown Liquor Store in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 07-June-2015 for CA$7,00 sampled in my hotel room a day later on 08-June-2015 and glad I didn’t schlep it across Canada and the USA to drink back in DC.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Léger arôme de houblon d’agrumes. Légèrement sucré avec une amertume modérée pour un BC IPA. Petite arrière-goût amer. Très douce en bouche.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cloudy amber/brown. Thin head. Aroma is woody, biscuity malts, bit yeast maybe a touch of phenol. Yeasty finish, bit duller than I would like.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tasted at the brewpub. Pours light cloudy amber. Nice lacing. Smells of sweet grapefruit, tropical citrus. Taste is citrus hop throughout. Finish is bitter dry and almost watery. Not a bad ipa but not a lot going on with the flavour.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bomber. Hazy orange, off-white foamy head settles . Pleasant aroma of grapefruit and tropical fruit. Taste is thin bittersweet grapefruit and citrus and not much else, totally lacking in malt presence. Softer than average carbonation, lighter bodied, moderately hopped. Another mediocre effort from Spinnakers. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a clear copper body with a nice frothy beige head that had excellent retention. The nose is a mix between citrusy and floral hops with a light caramel and bready malt base. The flavor is pretty restrained on the bitterness with some nice floral and green leafy hops. The malt is fairly light and on the drier side, clean and bready, with a light hint of yeastiness. Lighter bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty decent sessionable IPA.
