north west ale is inspired by the assertively hopped beers of the cascadia region. This ale is brewed with 85 IBU’s of pacific north-west hops, superbly well balanced with a strong, copper coloured, malty body.

Bomber. Unclear copper, huge off-white froth settles and lasts. Pukey caramel malt aroma. Taste is lightly singed toasted caramel malt, herbal, earthy, dirty hop, some citrus. Well carbonated, medium bodied, moderately hopped. One of Spinnakers better efforts. LBW (Lagerboys be Wary)

Surprisingly good beer. caramel malt, hint of floral hop, candy and grass that all comes together in a slightly sweet, well balanced malty taste. not a typical pale ale but a good beer. bargain priced here on the island at 10.00 a six pack.

On tap @ the airport location. Light Amber-kissed gold, generous lacy head. Light caramel grains, greenish hoppy bite, papery finish, thin.

On draft at the brewpub Victoria. Caramel, herbal and grassy hops, malty, mild to moderate bitterness, and a bit fruity. Mediocre. I would not have guessed this as a pale ale.

On tap @ Spinnakers. Light amber pour with a white head. Floral hops and some super herbal aromas, too. Quite grassy. A bit heavy on the caramel and candied fruit, too. Flavor is a little bit better off. Some moderate sweetness of caramel and citrus. Nice bitterness of herbs, a decent floral quality, and some grass. Kind of "meh".

From the bomber. Pours cloudy amber orange. Smaller head with some lacing. Smell is malty, caramel and a kind if rye ale smell. Taste is malt forward, caramel, toffee. The middle is a strange dead zone of watery and lack of flavour beer. Finish is a bitter, dry hop, not really characteristic of a Northwest IPA that can be more citrus and balanced. Just OK. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Feels more like an English Pale Ale than an APA. Quite malty, crisp and earthy with some sweet toffee and fudge notes. Not very balanced.

UPDATED: MAY 15, 2014 L’arôme de malt avec un peu de houblon floral. Le goût est légèrement sucré de malt, un peu médicinal, avec un peu de houblon très amer et floral. Carbonatation moyenne.

650mL bottle, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out metallic notes, some crackery malt, and some mild hops. Flavour brings out some weird chemically hops, some detergent, and some crackery malt. The chemical notes really destroy this. Not sure if this is the desired flavour profile, but this isn’t very drinkable. Not good.
