COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
north west ale is inspired by the assertively hopped beers of the cascadia region. This ale is brewed with 85 IBUís of pacific north-west hops, superbly well balanced with a strong, copper coloured, malty body.

650mL bottle, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out metallic notes, some crackery malt, and some mild hops. Flavour brings out some weird chemically hops, some detergent, and some crackery malt. The chemical notes really destroy this. Not sure if this is the desired flavour profile, but this isnít very drinkable. Not good.

Probably the best I tried at the brewpub today. Some pine and citrus hops. Pours clear orange with some lacing. No head. Light bitterness with a notch of sourness. On tap.

Tap at Spinnakers. Hop perfume on a hazy amber body. Medium light body, dry base, lightly resiny pine and grassy hop. High on IBUs but fresh, only slightly oily in the finish.

On tap at the Victoria brewpub. This one was the winner of the evening with lots of delicious west coast hop characteristics. A fine northwest style ale with lots of resiny hops.

650ml bottle pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a finger and a half of white head that settles slowly to reveal some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is grapefruit and light toasted grains with hints of other light fruits. Taste is a light grapefruit hop bitterness with a nice balance of sweet malts. Light to medium bodied with ample carbonation. A very tasty and well done brew that is highly recommended.

(Draft at the brewpub) Good one, there were certainly more than faint notes of an English IPA, despite the name.

Growler to pint glass. Gentle herb and fruity aroma of of hops. Deep, hazy copper colour with light froth of off-white head. Complex, yet incredibly well balanced. Initial hop blast gives way to a rich malty taste that finishes smooth. Low carbonation, medium-bodied and incredibly satisfying. A Spinnakerís favourite I find myself returning to time and time again.

[on cask at Alibi Room] Interesting faintly smoky aroma, though weak, with a little caramel and US hops. Foggy, yellow-bronze with a lasting, dense, tawny foam. Fruity, english yeast finish to the flavour, which has a bit of diacetyl, with the balance slightly on the sweet side and a mix of UK and bitter pine hops which comes off as somewhat complex. Light to medium body, very low carbonation, smooth, and with a lasting, moderate bitterness.

Clear copper, citrus and wet hop aroma. Bitter with a pine and grapefruit hit. Really sold pale ale!
