1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Cloudy orange colour with no head. Words cannot describe how awful this beer was presented and tasted. I know itís Real Ale and Spoons couldnít give a damn about that anymore, but really serving flat, cloudy, old beer, no matter how cheap is beyond reason. I detected some hop in the vinegar soup and a fruity bitterness. Terrible.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
As ST says, although our outing provided a number of new beers, the selection was a bit boring. Too many bog standard bitters. And this was another. Perfectly respectable - faint hop aroma, reasonable bitterness and body, with a hint of malt, but it was hardly exciting stuff. Cask (handpump), Wenlock Arms, London.

Wenlock. Sweet, smooth best bitter. Slips down nicely. One of the best beers of a remarkably average night.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask@The Wenlock Arms, London. Bit of a rubbery, sweaty aroma, grainy, edgy flavour, pretty bland. Canít say too much about it really.
