Our award-winning golden ale with a more-ish biscuit malt and a long citrus hop finish.

On cask
This is an average golden ale with a tease of flavor. In the end it winds up being little more than a method for delivering alcohol to the system. At least at £1.40 a half pint it was not expensive. Scroll past to something more interesting unless you absolutely must tick every beer at the local pub.

Aroma / Appearance - The golden brownish head is transparent and flat. Smelling like polished maple floors it is fairly mild. The hops and malts peek through at times but this is nothing like the best examples of the style.

Flavor / Palate - Maple and almonds sweeten the palate. Walnuts carry into a semi-dry transitional period. The creamy texture sticks in the mouth. Caramel cream wraps up a finish that feels uninspired. This isn’t the most terrible golden ale but neither does it have the impact of the best releases.

Cask at the Live and Let Live, Cambridge. straw with a thin white head; slightly sour, grassy and wheaty aroma; weak honey sweetness to start, soon replaced by a deep prickly bitterness that lasts and lasts - "long shall we extoll thee"".

Cask conditioned gravity dispense Northants BF. A light golden coloured beer with a tart fruity hop note throughout with notes of gooseberry and elderflower. Bitter in the mouth in a Bohemian way. Quite tasty.

Cask, gravity, at Northamptonshire Beer Festival ’09. The pun on Hope and Glory has been done before. Perhaps brewers should check their jokes for originality. pale gold. Delicate floral aroma. Sharp hoppy taste with some biscuit and a sweet fruity background.

Cask served at the right drinking temperature at The Bar Nouveau, GBBF 08. Slight foggy, golden body. One single white patch on top of the surface. Delicious pine aroma. Mix of tropical fruits in flavour along with progressive bitterness towards the ending. Well bodied (third pint measured glass, 07.08.2008).
