Rezenz passend. Sehr lecker.

Tapped. Light aroma of almost uncaughtable hops, citrus, herbs. Appears very good, clean and light golden colour. Palates thin and fresh, a bit lively. Light body, thin feel, abrupt finish. I am not a big fan of helles.

Pours golden with a medium fluffy white head. Aroma is mild, mainly bread notes.

From the tap at the brewery, poured into a lager glass. Clear golden with a small white head. Bready malt with light grassy hops. Sweetish malt, clean, lo-med bitterness, grassy and a bit metallic. Light, gassy, overall balanced but boring.

On tap at the Spitalkeller. Lovely day, my first beer, probably should have rated slightly lower. A fine blend of grainy goodness and aromatic hops, Clear gold, soft carbonation.

(Keg at the brewpub, 20130514) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized, long lasting and white. Aroma had grass and metallicness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, malts, grass, white bread and bitterness. Aftertaste was bitter. The aroma was too mild and not matchig with the taste

This brewer is attached to St. Katarinenspital Hospital in Regensburg. Bright white head, gold, deep rich gold, clear as a bell and bubbling incessantly almost like a Kristalweizen. Aroma is all Pils malt, slightly caramel but also a background of hops there too. The taste is almost a Bohemian Pils, but maltier, drier. The mouthfeel is thick but not as thick as a Czech Pils, and has a strong backbone that won’t feel thin after the bottom of the glass. The flavor is all Pils malts, no sweetness at all. It’s a tad bitter but with a aftertaste that is sweet-citrus, maybe a sign of Saaz hops? This citrus is only in the aftertaste, far far far back on the tongue. If you swallow it too quickly, you won’t even taste it, but if you let it slowly glide over the back of the tongue, wow, it’s there. I see why this won the award! That aftertaste, though is fleeting, making you desire more, but making you wonder if it’s only imagination at play, yet I drink it again, and there it is... interesting. I’m not normally a fan of Pils/Helles, but this is a süffiges Bier! But I really like it! It’s bitter up front and in the middle but not in the aftertaste, leaving each swallow with the desire for more. I would pay DHL to bring this to me once a month.
