Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed after getting to work way too early this morning. Appearance is a cloudy gold with a moderate white head that laces to the glass. Aroma is rich in hops, spice, but really it’s just hops. Taste goes down with a hoppy flavor, mixture of pine and citrus, overall decent though.

Bright orange with white head. Very citrus and fruity taste. Dry apricot and super bitter. Good. Hoppy.

A light golden color with a hint of orange and a half finger white head that lingers on surface. Smells of tropical, citrus, heavy on fresh orange zest. Taste is a strong bitter that has a chemical taste to it, a lot of citrus specifically orange. Some caramel malt biscuit flavors in the finish, some honey, and a lot more of the harsh hop bitter. Overall it's a decent beer, but the type of hop bitter is a bit offensive. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cloudy pale, straw. Fair bit of white head. Piney-citrus, some hay. Bitter, some lighter sweetness. Longish, dry finish. Lighter body, quite a bit of carbonation. Fine.

12 ounce can thanks to John. Big hoppy aroma. Lots of aroma that carries down into the body. Light yellow body. Very tasty.

2014 can. Hazy golden straw color with a white head. Dank aroma with tangerine and pine. Taste is hopcentric. Big piney taste and bitterness. A little grass taste and some lemon with a small bit of sweetness. A light semi-dry mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz can from the Binnys South Loop Singles Rack (Chicago, IL). Finally able to grab a couple of the new Spiteful cans. Pours a nice hazed amber orange hue, a bit darker and dulled overall with some fall fiery orange poking through, frothy whitish head atop is a decent layer dying to a mellow film, laces well enough. Aromas show lemony and floral hops, touches of earth and biscuit and caramel malts. Pale grains, bread and touches of gentle oxidation eat at it a touch. Earth, lemon, and wafts of grapefruit, orange peel. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied, a nice bitterness hits up front, fresher than the nose let on. More hop driven with firm lemony and grapefruit hops. A bit juicy, oily fresh hops hit with nice bitterness as we work through. A decent body shows bready malts, biscuits, and some gentle sweeter jabs. Touch of caramel on the backend but still a nice hop presence to battle that. Nothing to firm in body or sticky in sweetness. Backend is dry and bitter, touches of floral and grapefruit rind offer some nice bitterness, touches of biscuit and gentle caramel poke in to give some play. A solid maltbill beneath, a solid to firm bittering hop still rues the day. Finish is dry, a bit prickly and bitter as we trail out. Touches of bread, biscuit, grainy malts and faint toast. Solid drinker. A bit firmer in body, the hop profile is pleasant and fairly fresh albeit the nose gets a bit odd, malty at times. Once you get into it, the hop profile does shine and generally lead the charge throughout the experience. Nice.

Pours a hazy golden yellow with a nice white head that settles to a film with good lacing. Aroma of citrus, pineapple, leafy and herbal with a bit of pine. Taste of grapefruit and citrus rind with some herbal and slight dankness. Spicy hops with some pepper and a piney bitterness. Finishes dry with lingering bitterness. Medium bodied with a moderate/high carbonation. Nice IPA with a good level of complexity with the spicy and pepper flavors on top of the typical flavors.

This is actually my rating for spiteful ball and chain. Best pale ale I have had in alon time. Top 5. Crushable hoppy and perfectly bitter. These guys nailed it. Pours yellow in color. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
