Don’t fight it, Spite It! People always ask us, why Spiteful? Well, here’s an example: our good friend’s hockey (and favorite) number is between 25 and 27. Because of this, that number is forever known as 25B at Spiteful. So we brewed this double ESB for our batch #25B to spite him. And just in case you were wondering, P.A.C. stands for People Against Colin. It takes a lot to have an entire organization against you, but trust us, he’s an idiot!

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home after work watching House of Cards. Appearance is cloudy pale gold with frothy white head. Aroma of bright citrus hops, grassy notes, light biscuit. Taste is really good, nice mixture of crisp bready malt and citrus bitterness. This is great for the style, big fan of this one.

Bomber. Pours an amber orange with a beige head and aroma of malt, toffee, and fruits. Taste is sweet, of caramel, malt, toffee, fruits, yeast, and bread notes with a slight bitter, dry, hoppy finish.

Bomber. Shared with Zach, pours a deep mahogany brown color with a small creamy head. Nose is sweet and malty. Taste is sweet with plenty of caramel, toffee and malt. Finish is sweet as well and ends on the same tasting notes, drinks easily with some heaviness on the palate. Quaff Score 7 / 10

Bomber. Pours a turbid light brownish color, looks like sink backup. Light carbonation and no head to speak of (I actually like the murkiness, but took points off for headless-ness). Nose is kinda pissy and wet cardboard, with some malt and hops in there. Mouth is mildly bitter and a hint of tang, some toffee and malt, a hint of soot (?) and slightly diacetyl butterscotchy on the tail end. A good Bitter, but not great.

Murky pour. YEast-dominated, dusty, almost savory, diacetyl, caramel malts.

1st rating! Bomber bottle served in an Imperial Pint Glass: Pours a deep amber hue with a lasting rocky head and good lace. The aroma has notes of toffee, crystal, butterscotch, herbal hops, and some earthiness. The taste is malty but there is a good amount of both classic and PNW styled hop bitterness for support. Slightly metallic and minerally dry finish. Some Diacetyl comes through as it warms but overly distracting. The mouth feel is smooth yet somewhat aggressive, copper penny finish. Overall a drinkable brew that is akin to a malty IPA than an ESB.
