Sampled at the brewpub.
Cloudy brown colour, with brief head. Low aroma profile, only light toasty, and bit chocolatey. Big on toastiness in flavour(bit too much), that gives some sourness. Also bitter chocolate. Polish hops were sensed in flavour.

The name is ciemne, sold at a lovely brewpub with horrible service in Wroclaw. Good for polish standards I guess. The beer looks quite dusty, like dark honey. The aroma is full, dark bread but a bit young. Very malty taste, smoked and bittery (whatever that means) at the end. Not a bad one.

Very good, i like Dunkel biers now. It was a little sweet, but very strong in alcohol, it does not taste like that but you can sense it. So be careful when drinking it, and specially if a session.

Dark amber-brown. Cloudy. Giant creamy light brown head. Aroma is buried a bit by the thick head but is toffeeish and toasty. Body is full and creamy. Flavour - nutty, spicy, brown sugar, sassafras and well-done toast. Unusual dunkel, interesting but not altogether inappropriate.

UPDATED: JUN 14, 2003 Dark ruby, one of the best looking dunkels .Dark roasted malt, spicy aroma some oats. Wonderfully roasted black coffee, not to dark just right. Not to acidic or sharp. Great mouthfeel . All that is rounded with chicory. Long lasting aftertaste with some vanilla.
