3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This 8%’er pours a deep red brown with a healthy head and good aroma. I was pleased that the caramel aroma and flavor is subtle. This is more bread than caramel which I prefer. The alcohol definitely gives it some weight. Good one.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2014 Very dark with red highlights. Malty aroma. Taste- rich chocolate and notes of coffee and dark fruit. Sweet but also some tart cherry sourness. Ok dopplebock. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
From a 12 oz bottle poured in a stem glass. Pours muddy brown. Aroma is thin and chocolatey. Flavor is fairly crisp, with chocolate and burnt grain notes. Fairly thin mouthfeel. Good, but unexceptional dopplebock.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle with new label displaying 8.0% ABV, served in a snifter.
Pours dark, ruby brown color, with a small off-white head. that never completely covers the body and is soon gone.
Aroma is sweet, with hints of black bread, brown sugar, and dried plums.
Sweet up front, but balancing bitterness kicks in at the finish.
Medium body and near medium carbonation.
Overall: very good example of style.

One of the worst beers I have ever tried. I took a tour of the brewery and the tourguide talked more about Soda then beer

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
this pours a medium brown color with not too much of a head. The aroma is very malty. The flavor is very well balanced with a delicious toasted, malt flavor and a bit of carbonation to give it some volume. Overall very nicely made.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle. Dark, ruby brown color, with a small, vanishing, off-white head. The aroma is rye, black bread, caramel, juniper, and light hop bitterness. Very sweet up front, with a good bitterness in the finish. Medium body, spicy, and chalky. Overall, this is a pretty good beer, but I’d expect more from a doppelbock.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
8/2/13. 12oz bottle at Bleu Pub. Deep amber brown pour with basically no head whatsoever. Deep caramel, some bread, and a bit of toast on the aroma. Lightly sweet toasted caramel flavor, some nuttiness, a hint at dark fruits. Not bad.

Tap. Brown pour with tan head. Smells of sweet malts. Tastes sweet with very slight bitter finish. Great beer for walking around milwaukee's germanfest.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear ruby brown; thin ring of off-white head. Aroma is really nice sweetish roasted malt, caramel, touch of dark fruit. Flavor follows aroma; great malt profile. Medium body, not alot going on on the palate. Tasty and very drinkable. I’d have another.
