| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 4, 2004 Pours with a two-finger head that goes quickly and leaves no lace. Medium carbonation. Cloudy amber color. Nose is yeasty. Light bodied, I expect a little more beef with a hefeweizen. Starts with a wheat/yeast flavor and finishes with a yeasty aftertaste. It is though, a good summer beer. $1.95 for a 16oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, MA. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 28, 2004 color is lightly hazy yellowish golden...kind of clear for a hefe...head is white and creamy. aroma is very spicy (clove), very bubblegummy...banana is quite subdued. wheat is quite apparent. flavor is mild bubblegum and mild spice, mostly sweet...decent mouthfeel...i would have expected a nice hefe from sprecher and i got it. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 18, 2004 This ranks up with Pyramid as the best American-brewed German style wheat beers. Slightly hazy golden color with a bit of a small head. Aroma and flavor of banana and cloves. With enough yeast to give it a silty texture--just the way I like it. Very good. jde123 (715), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 1, 2004 Poured a strange looking amber color with absolutely no head. Very strange. The aroma is rather pleasant however, nice and citrusy with a hint of cloves. Taste was a little different, lacked that uniqueness of other Sprecher brews. Below average hefeweizen, not their best outing. jables (101), Champaign, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 22, 2004 Bright appearance, high yellow gold color with solid white head.
The smell is brilliant yeasty bready yet fruity.
Taste has some fantastic flavors of banana, clove, and spice, works well in the summer and the fall, winter, and spring.
I highly recommend this Hefe, I've had few that are this tasty let alone at the availability of this beer.
If you've had other Sprecher and been disappointed, i.e. the Abbey Triple, Maibock, or Imperial Stout, you should try this and the black bavarian, it will reaffirm faith in this brewery.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 13, 2004 Bottle: Ok nose, clove, lemon, toasted white bread, banana. Lite golden yellow color, just a little haze. Clove and banana flavor. Thin crisp body leaves lemon banana on the tounge. Seems like a respectable hefe, but its not my first choice in beer. Was surprised to see some score so low though.
