2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Thorpe429 (3562) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - MAY 8, 2011
Thanks to BeerFMAndy for this bottle. Served in a Russian River pilsner glass.
Pours a quite hazy light golden color with a several-finger white head and some good ringy lacing on the way down. The nose has a bit of light bread plus some banana and bubblegum; cloves seem to take a back seat. The flavor is along the same lines. Body is thin, lending to the almost candy-like flavor attributable to the bubblegum and banana. Light bread as well. Something a bit odd about it that I don’t particularly care for. I think it’s just got too much candy-like flavor and there’s no real clove to put everything in perspective. Moderate carbonation. Close, but didn’t quite do it on a hard to nail style.

It poured a golden color with a small head. The aroma was of grains, corn, and malts. The flavor was of spice, malts, and citrus. A decent Hefeweizen.

Super fruity in the smell and clovey in the taste. For an American Hefeweizen it isn’t bad.

16 oz. Bottle,
this Hefe Weizen has a hazy orange pour with a one finger high white head, left some ok lacing on the glass, there was a thick ring of sediment in the bottle,
aroma of peach, orange, banana, faint bubble gum wrapper,
flavors of bread, wheat, banana, orange fruit, some sweetness, has a little bitterness on the palate at the finish,
mouth feel was so-so,
a so-so beer.

About average for a Wheat Beer. I’ve never been a fan, but I enjoyed drinking this one. Must have been the environment.
