Commercial Description:
This coarse filtered wheat ale is fermented with a German yeast culture for a refreshingly light spiciness and hints of citrus fruit. A cloudy appearance and an immense creamy head are characteristic of this lightly hopped Bavarian brew.

1 pint bottle. pours hazy golden with white head. nose banana, cloves, wheat, and oats. flavor is wheaty, some banana, cloves, oats, just not enough citrus and suffers from not being flavorful enough. a run of the mill hefe for sure.

Bottle; poured a ruddy gold, with smallish white head. Aroma was dull and mellow; banana and spice. Flavor was a lilttle stronger, but still found it boring. Crisp taste of banana, yeast and grain. Ending was weak, with little after taste.

Appearance: hazy orange color, thick, though heavily populated with floating yeasties, with a bubbly white head, a solid collar, that thins out rather quickly. Aroma: banana notes come off quickly out of the nose, available from far-off, but let’s bring it in, for a further sniff...there it is, soft, smooth, creamy, spicy, thick with the banana, lessening some as we go. Good ol’ Bavarian character is in full effect. Taste: nice, neat little hoppiness up front, solid body, very mellow and smooth, high drinkability factor on this one. But a bit too mellow for me...really stand-out weizens make a bigger impression, and this one lies down too easily. Lies down, I say, but doesn’t keel over, exactly. Very nice hefe weizen, all told.

Bottle. Stale grainy nose hits immediately on cap-pop but resolves into a smoother, creamer, yeast and phenol aroma. Still has that off-putting graininess, though, with allspice. Cloudy golden with strong carbonation and a big, fluffy white head. Taste is as expected, with light tart and big overtones of sourdough and citrus. Medium body is dry but tending a tad toward watery, still velvety smooth. Dry bready aftertaste. Not going to have this again, a big disappointment from one of the country’s best breweries.

New in town. Aroma is yeasty, bready and holds mild bannana notes. Body is a cloudy pale yellow and holds a slowly diminishing, two finger thick, white head. Fore is creamy on the palate and possesses yeasty notes, sweet bannana bread some very mild clove notes and a sweeter bannana cream and bubblegum finish. Not a bad Hefe at all though the overall flavor of it isn’t exactly traditional as a whole...the basic flavors are there.

bottle. hazy white-golden with a small white head. the aroma consists of cereal and yeasty banana mostly but also a little bit of pear. biscuit flavour with a good dose of spice and lemony twang in the finish along with some kind of strange quality to go along with it. decent.

A disappointment coming from such a fine brewery. Not sharp enough and lacking in complexity.

Pours a light hazy yellow with pillowy white head. Aroma is rich with banana, cloves and mellow sweetness. Taste the banana and cloves of the aroma, light citrus & nice carbonation. Medium mouthfeel. This is a nice hefe worth trying. Easy drinking and very true to the style. While not the best, definitely worth having at least one... or more.
