Commercial Description:
This coarse filtered wheat ale is fermented with a German yeast culture for a refreshingly light spiciness and hints of citrus fruit. A cloudy appearance and an immense creamy head are characteristic of this lightly hopped Bavarian brew.

Sprecher, makers of one of the best root beers around, does a good job with its wheat alehefeweizen. A bit more bitter than some others, this still sports a fruity flavor and a pancake taste. Light enough for the whole family to enjoy, and what can I say, I still think a 16oz bottle is pretty novel.

16 oz bottle. Poured a cloudy yellow color. Head was white with decent retention. Aroma was of yeasty bread dough with banana, caramel, and bubblegum. Delicately sweet on the tongue with bubblegum, malty cereal grain, banana, and yeasty bread dough flavors. Not a bad hefe, but not as much banana or clove as I had expected.

On tap at the brewery. Cloudy golden body with medium fluffy head. Banana aroma with sweet malt and yeast. Flavor is banana and and yeast as well with not much else, a little sweet. Thin body and a little creamy. This could be better, but still kind of nice.

Typical color & cloudiness. Had a nice large head... that disappeared in the blink of an eye... literally. Very decent flavor unhindered by the low alcohol content... banana comes out very strong instead of subtle like in other hefe’s. More of a dessert than a beer =p but is very smooth and drinkable. Sour aroma? Intriguing palate... low carbonation but definitly not flat, full bodied for a hefe.

Pours out golden and cloudy with a thick white head. Wheat aroma with hints of citrus. Taste is light, very easy drinking with hints of wheat and lemon.

(bottle) Pours a cloudy gold with a white head. Aroma was mainly clove with a little bit of banana-like fruitiness from time to time. Taste was not as good as the aroma would indicate, with just a light sweetness and a substantial wheaty finish. Not too bad though.

Had at the brewpub after a tour of the place. Plenty spicey, as they claim, y’all.

Bottle. Gold pour. Wheat, light citrus & spice (clove), lightly hopped. Decent beer.
