Commercial Description:
This coarse filtered wheat ale is fermented with a German yeast culture for a refreshingly light spiciness and hints of citrus fruit. A cloudy appearance and an immense creamy head are characteristic of this lightly hopped Bavarian brew.

A marginal brew. I suppose that it would be better if the overall flavor of the hefe were larger, and not so short lived, but this one lacks in just about every area on the tounge. Go for any other Sprecher brew, you won’t be disappointed

Cloudy golden with minimal head. Aroma is straight american wheat aroma, sweetish with light hops. No detectable clove/banana. Flavor shows a fair bit of clove. Not assertive in any way.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a thin head. Tasted like wheat and lemon with some fizz and spice. Finished creamy and sweet .

Light hazy color. Smell of yeast, lemons, malt, spice, bananas, hot dogs, butterscotch and buttermilk. Taste of malt, hint of hops, lemons, ginger, wheat and a little caramel. Dry bitterness at the end.

(Bottle) Pours a yellow color with a slight haze. Good looking white head. Strong banana aroma from the yeast. This really overpowered the palate of this beer, which was pretty average. Light wheat malt in the flavor, but nothing that really stands out. I think the ’coarse filter’ takes out some of the body that separates this beer from the better examples of the style.

[Bottle] Pours hazy orange with a nice, thick creamy head. Aroma is sweet--banana and cloves mainly. Good blend that works well for it. Taste is pretty weak, wheat is there but not much else. Very thin. Short finish. This beer started out well with the appearance and aroma but quickly went downhill after that.

Pours a clear yellow, whitish fizzy head. Aroma is spicy, yeasty esters, lemon, wheat. Aroma is lemony again, a weird estery note like rubber that seems to be in lots of Sprecher’s beers but it is much more apparent here. Spicy esters.
