Commercial Description:
This coarse filtered wheat ale is fermented with a German yeast culture for a refreshingly light spiciness and hints of citrus fruit. A cloudy appearance and an immense creamy head are characteristic of this lightly hopped Bavarian brew.

Pours a hazy medium golden color with a small head. Aroma is of grains, citrus, corn, and light malts. Flavor is quite sharp. Spice, malts, and citrus. Sort of has a Belgian flavor to it. This may be a German Hefe style but I am getting a big Belgian spice flavor to it and I am liking it.

500 ml bottle. Hazy yellow with a really nice head. Aromas were mostly banana. Clove came in strong on the flavor. It was all there. I didin’t think it was bad at all. Maybe a little underrated IMHO.

Nice citrus and banana aroma. Lightly tart flavor with nice bready malts and some light yeast notes.

Sweet aroma. Appearance is cloudy with very little head, Good flavor, a little too many bubbles. Hint of orange in the beginning and banana at the end..

Slightly cloudy with a very, very fresh wheat nose that offered hints of lemon, banana, and spice. Nicely carbonated, it was very refreshing, and clean. Notes of lemon and orange danced around in the soft, fresh, bready middle. Finishes clean and banana-y.

Finally, a Sprecher that I can be enthused about say is underated, although that does not say much give the current public sentiment. This is a notch or two below my favorites in the style but better than most. Classic HW in all repects. Balance with nothing overdone.

16 ounce bottle. Weizen glass. Pale yellow with very little head. (The smaller heads seem to be common for most Sprechers.) Aroma was yeasty with some clove and spices. The taste was sweet with notes of clove, spice, citrus and wheat bread. This is comparable with many German brewers of this style.

16 oz. bottle in trade with ketchepillar- poured into my weizen glass- poured slightly cloudy pale golden yellow, mild carbonation, white head quickly disappeared to form a ring. Aroma of yeast with a light banana and stiff citrus note. Hits the mouth with a thin body, yeast very noticeable, tasted banana in the middle, finish is complete with a slight french vanilla note. Gotta get more of this for the horrid summers down here...
