3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Blatz King (150) - Whitewater, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 4, 2005This ber smelled soo good but the flavor was a bit flat for me. It was very dark, almost black. I had it a couple days ago so I don’t remember it that well. All I remember is that it smelled amazing but didn’t taste good. eh
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 madvike (2128) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - APR 6, 2013
On tap at the Middleton Pub - Pours deep cola pour with a thin tan head. Nose is chalky and dry roast, with espresso and some milkiness. Light milky notes in the taste, with medium char roast, charcoal, and some coffee grounds. Light smoke and an odd minty note on the finish. Biting carbonation and a thinnish body. This is a style that I usually like, but this one was just weird.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 SSSteve (3392) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAR 22, 2013
growler. black beer with a huge, whipped, tan head. sweet-ish aroma with milk chocolate. flavor is more bitter roast than the aroma suggests with a dark chalky roasted note. light body and dry, but very flavorful. very solid.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 unclemattie (3735) - Georgia, USA - JAN 29, 2013
16oz, Sprecher bottle, twist-off. Very black pour. Brown foam. Aroma of burnt malts, chocolate, coffee. Very dry. Black charred malts, licorice. Better than Guinness! (3596)

Draft at Sprecher. I’m digging this beer. Not enough to grab a growler of it but very drinkable for the price. Grab a sample on tap before you grab a whole six pack though.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 cbfobes (1734) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 22, 2012
On tap at Sprecher Restaurant in Middleton, pours black with a thin tan head and a little lacing in the glass, the aroma is roasty with a hint of chocolate, the flavor is pretty disapointing with a little bit of chocolate and malt, but left me wanting so much more out of it, middle of the road brew that is forgettable.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 SHIG (3103) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - APR 2, 2012
Draft: poured a black brown with tan head, lacked a bit of the creaminess I’m used to with dry stout. Aroma was roasted malt. Taste was bitter bakers chocolate and full roasted malt. Could be an excellent beer, but presently average.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Lemke10 (544) - Janesville, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 19, 2012
I had this on-tap at the Sprecher’s Restaurant and Pub in Lake Geneva, WI for $5 in early 2012.
Pours a black color with a creamy, fluffy head. Has a strong cocoa/coffee scent. Texture is thick, creamy, and robust. It was a little thinner than I expected but still very flavorful and filling as the robust flavors overwhelm your taste buds. Definitely a must try!

Sampler as part of flight at Lake Geneva Sprechers. Pours thin black with thin head. A little thin for a stout...nose of coffee and chocolate...initial flavor is similar with a slight hoppy bitterness...good but not great...drinkable.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Lubiere (8335) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 27, 2012
A deep dark stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, nice smooth chocolate, milky, light coffee notes. In mouth, a nice smooth chocolate, with light acidic points, light coffee, not bad. Bottle at Istmus Beer and Cheese Fest, Jan 21 2012.

16oz. bottle to pint glass. Pours black with small beige head that laces well. I get malt and a little coffee. taste is sweet with bread, malt, chocolate and coffee with a coffee-like bitter finish that has a dry aftertaste. Fairly creamy with balance carbonation. Pretty solid stout.
