African-style ale, based on West African tradition. Brewed with sorghum and has notes of spice and fruit. Unfiltered.

Shakparo style beers originated West African and are brewed with sorghum. Our Shakparo is light and refreshing with hints of fruit and spice, and is presented unfiltered as is traditional with this style.

bottle @ Jungle Jims / Eastgate OH --- Clear light amber, thin rim head, no lace. No bubbles or life. Aroma is a little malt and off-putting vegetable. Taste reminds me of the alcohol-free brews out there - semi-malt that goes nowhere interesting while adding carbonation bite on the swallow to even things out. If it were 0% abv, Iíd say it works, but at 5.7%, no thank you.

12oz bottle from Supermarket Liquors
Pours clear golden with a small white head that dissipates quickly, no head. Aroma of ripe fruit, sugar and herbal. Taste is yeast, earthy, medicinal, dry finish
Better than most gluten free beers, but thatís not saying much.

12 oz bottle poured into pint. Yeasty like aroma. No head at all. Easy to drink, tastes alright. I didnít get the fruit notes. Better gluten free option, but other than that, a pass.

After Mbege, I knew I needed to tick this bad boy. Itís basically like a midpoint between a saison and a wine cooler. Fizzy, grapey, slightly acidic, itís not as awful as it could be.

Clear golden with a bubbly fizzy head. Spicy fruity nose, though not like a saison. Thereís some honey and guava with a black pepper and spice note. The flavor brings that same honey and guava note from the nose, with a wee bit of herbal spice and muddled yeast dough. Strange. Enjoyable, but strange. Also, the body is like, soda-levels of fizzy.

Bottle. Pours a clear light gold with a large-grained white head and a lot -- I mean, a LOT -- of carbonation. It might say itís unfiltered, but I donít see any sediment or particulate in it. Nose is the typical burnt sugar I expect from gluten-free beers, along with slight bandaid/latex, black pepper, and a little stone fruit. Starts out sweet, then immediately shifts into a heavily acetic sourness; flavor is short and astringent, and while thereís some stone fruit, green apple, and grain there, itís buried under apple cider vinegar. Finish is murky and muddy. Not good.

Bottle, pours a clear gold body with a white head. Aroma of damp hay/grains and light fruit. Tastes much better than it smells. Taste is light sour fruit.

Gold pour, thin lasting head. Aroma is weird fruity musty fermenting apple, wet hay, sour graininess. Not particularly enticing. Flavour continues to unsettle with a lot of wet grainy, un-identifiable berry and spice. Lingering sweetness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours clear orange with minimal head. The aroma is nonexistent. The taste is weird sweetness. Bad. Sorry.

Bottle. Berry, orange, and sorghum aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet berry, sorghum and light malt flavor with the typical sorghum bitter finish. Not horrible - better than most Gluten free beers.
