COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
SPRING - Pale malty flavors are balanced with a rich hop flavor and a light fruit bouquet in this tradtitional spring-time lager. Extended aging and traditional dry-hopping give this potent, blonde bock a distinctive flowery aroma.

16 oz bottle Pours a nice light caramel/ brown, almost amber. A good healthy head. Smell is malty, light amount of floral. Ther eis a sweetness to the smell but is balanced by a earthiness Taste is malty. Not as hoppy as other in the style. Floral and malty upfront, you can taste the alcohol a little at the end of it. It is watery and a nice amount of carbonation This is smooth for a bock, and drinkable. Definitely not something I would drink all the time though. Not a bad brew, Sprecher does it up by serving a full pint, which is not a bad thing.

Medium amber, heavy ring of bubbles feeding a frothy cover. Not able to tease out much aroma, though toward the end there is the faintest notion of honey malt tips. The body is of a crystal/caramel malt sweetness with a toasty quality present. Not overly sweet, and one of the more balanced examples of the style.

12 oz. Clear orange-amber with a thin, fleeting froth above. Creamy vanilla aroma is balanced by light citrus and wood notes. Flavor is very similar with vanilla cream nearly overpowering the front, just allowing some orange zest and fruity, woody hop tones in, to finish with a nice balance. Near-medium body is to the sweet side, with some astringency providing a tingly, drying finish.

murky orangish brown that mutes out the light trying to find its way through. a light peppery smell with a grassiness. nice floral/lavender scent biscuity spicy zesty floral & sweet. reminds me of spring. Great hop tastes in here, soft grassy citrus and floral flavor without a lot of bite but just a touch of that spice. A decent amount of malt sweetness carries this brew. it blends masterfully. Not too light where it doesn’t exist, and not too heavy where I wonder if its still a Mai. crisp and clean drainkability. so refreshing. mmm. I could just sit outside on the porch on a spring day and drink these one after another. I have yet to find a Maibock I like as much as this one. Garden Salad would blend nicely with this. A lemon pepper chicken or a zesty pasta salad. I might go so far as having this with a piece of lemon meringue pie or a lemon tart.

Much, much, much better than I expected. Spring seasonal beers tend to be light, in anticipation of the hot weather, but this one was fairly heavy. Check it out.

On tap into a pint glass at the Bearden Beer Market. Pours a crystalline light copper with a small white head. The aroma is vegetal with hints of pencil erasers, wood and mixed nuts. I find the flavor to be much more agreeable. It is intensely nutty, like glazed almonds with cooked veggies deep in the finish. Hops peek out after a few sips for a weak bite. Not too terrible. Doesn’t smell very good though.

I received this from my beer of the month club today (4-23-2008). Pours a crystal clear dark copper with a thinnish off white head that has staying power. Aroma is caramel, some vanilla frosting, and some subdued dried fruit in the background. Taste is malty caramel with a hop bite in the finish. Full body sticky mouthfeel and crisp carbonation. Solid brew from Sprecher, to bad I can’t get them more often.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours a clear, golden-orange body with a small, tight, white head. Aroma of grape juice, bread and pear. More white grape in the flavor along with some toast and bread crust. Light body with moderate-high carbonation. Sweet with no bitterness. Slightly slick, lingering finish. Overall pretty meh. Not much of a Maibock and a somewhat subpar beer overall.
