valpoaj (290), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA Jul 5, 2008 On tap...nice medium head over a deep amber body. Aroma is very fruity and bready...pleasant. Flavor is fruity and very sweet...full of banana and some orange. Slight hop bitterness at the end. Slightly creamy on the palate and very easy drinking...a nice rendition of the style!
KyotoLefty (113), Kyoto, Japan Sep 1, 2008 Aged and also dry hopped. Light amber color, low, lace head. Aroma rather light. Cereals, grain, apples, some hops. Not very appealing. Very fruity flavor, but not much else. Sweet, with apples, cherries, a bit of hops. Slightly more hoppy in the finish, with fruit. Dry. Very straight-forward, uninteresting malt character. Not much going on here. Like a slightly sweet, too fruity amber lager. Too much fruit, no complexity. Drinkable and un-offensive, but not a traditional maibock taste at all. pkbites (253), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Aug 19, 2008 Above average looking pour, slightly creamy head that lasts a while. Floral nose. Not as wheaty or hoppy as expected. Bold yet smooth. Aftertaste is weaker than I’d like. Not bad, yet not exceptional. Beershine (1214), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 6, 2008 Clear amber-orange with small white head. Floral, crisp, bready, cherry, toast and jam aromas. Quaff-friendly and soft mouthfeel. A little thin in the finish but a really smooth maibock. Angeloregon (1898), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 28, 2008 On tap at Oregon Brewers Festival 2008--Poured a rich copper-amber body with soft beige head. Sweet malty cream nose. Sugary, caramel flavor with a distinct booze profile. sweet cream finish witha mild hop back. Pretty satisfying. IlanMan (534), Winona, Minnesota, USA Jul 6, 2008 Aroma is light fruit with medium malt character. Flavor begins with mostly yeasty fruit characters moving to a medium hoppy finish. I liked the blended transition of this brew. Decent but maybe not worth going out of my way for.
