COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
AUTUMN - Traditionally brewed to celebrate the harvest season, this reddish-brown lager has a rich caramel character and a long flavorful finish. Its delicious malty sweetness is nicely accented by a slightly fruity bouquet and a mild hop flavor.

Another good offering from Sprecher. Aroma sweet and malty. Beer poured a copper/orange color. Flavor creamy, nutty(unique to me for an Oktoberfest), with some malt sweetness.

[Bottle] Bright orange colored pour with a soapy head. Nose is of caramel malts, crisp hops and a light earthiness. Taste is of toasted breads, caramel, grassy/herbal hops, toffee and grains. Good body for the style. Nice and drinkable. Tasting notes from 12/2011.

Normal Oktober one. Not much thickness anf fine features. Very nice to drink but just that.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2014 For a beer that doesn’t come from the land of bratwurst, Sprecher’s Oktoberfest tastes a lot like the genuine artifact. The malt’s caramel quality is supple but balanced by a light, crisp hopping. Big on flavor but low on bitterness, this lager is an autumnal treat, one that begs to be paired with sausage or other spiced meats.

Aroma is sweet and enticing, but flavor is slight and on the sweet side with poor balance. Creamy lingering flavor is probably the highlight of a weak Marzan.

Tap. Amber pour with tan head. Smells very malty. Tastes of a lot of malt, bread, and hop finish. Nice Oktoberfest. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

sweet, malt, caramel. A little bready. Similar taste, a little bit of a dry finish. A little bittersweet, possibly dark dried fruit.

Pours a nice looking ruby reddish dark amber. Large frothy dense off-white head, partially lasting with lace. Malty sweet aroma, caramel, little toffee, bready. Medium body. Finish is dry, a bit earthy, residual sweetness too. Classic oktoberfest. Classic oktoberfest that leans a little more towards the dryer, nuttier side.

Bottle. Toasty caramel malt aroma. Deep amber with a large apricot/tan head. Flavor same as nose - toast and caramel malt flavor with a very subtle toasty bitter finish. Body on the light side of medium, average carbonation.

16oz, Sprecher bottle, twist-off. Rusty brown color, dark tan head. Initial aroma of musty attic, it may be an old bottle. As it opens up there is a bit more of toasted malt, caramel character. As well as some fruity notes. It definitely needed to open. Somewhat of a metallic character, some toffee-like notes, some caramel, toasted malts flavors. Soft, creamy texture. Overall, there is a dominating fruity character in this beer that kinda takes it away from the style of Oktoberfest/Märzen for me. It is definitely in the category of Vienna with the slightest blood line to an Alt bier. Still a great beer, (BUT) with more of toasted caramel & fruit esters, and less oak, it just isn’t Märzen for me... (3668)
