3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml bottle. The pour is a muddy brown with a small ring of head that vanishes quickly. The aroma is very malty. There is a strong toffee presence and there isn't a whole lot going on there. Strong dark fruits all throughout. I love the aroma. The flavor mimics this. There is the sweetness and the dark fruits. The mouth feel is thicker and syrupy and with a light carbonation gives it a little velvety feel. The aftertaste is lingeringly malty and smooth. This is a very good scotch

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Single from total wine. Smoke and peat and unfortunately I can’t get much past that. This one is not for me but I’m sure the smoke guys will get all over it.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
The beer that taught me the difference between a Scottish ale and a scotch ale. Dark amber full bodied beer. I am rating it a 5 simply to try to counter the ridiculously low rating that it has on this website

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark amber with a thin head. Caramel, roasted malt and a light smokiness. A tad too sweet for my taste but still mighty fine.

bottle. clear deep amber with a lots a lively bubbles and a medium, creamy, stable, beige head. earthy, peaty, smokey, caramel aroma. flavor is strongly smoked and earthy with a balancing caramel sweetness. long smokey finish. could almost fit in the smoked beer catagory. not really supposed to be smokey for style, but this beer is really tasty. i am continually impressed with sprechers offering.
