LtJudge (431), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Jan 6, 2008 Pours a brownish red color with a small tan head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of caramel malts and dark fruits dominate the aroma. Flavor is of roasted malts with a slight bitter backing. Not bad,but not what I was expecting goldtwins (4079), Nesconset, New York, USA Jan 4, 2008 Poured a hazy dark amber color with a beige head. Dark fruity aroma with notes of brown sugar. Aged malt flavor with some phenolic band-aid notes. Sweet with a medium body. beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Dec 29, 2007 This Scotch ale pours a medium amber color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is smoky, peaty and sweet, touch of brown sugar. A medium bodied Scotch ale. The malts are caramel and sweet. Touch of smoke and peat. The hops are earthy and floral. Nice beer. Good carbonation, nice balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 19, 2007 Medium amber color with medium off white head, Malty caramel aroma. This was an ok brew but it had a weird metalic flavor to it along with light caramel/peat notes. Pailhead (2572), Allen Park, Michigan, USA Dec 18, 2007 Bottle: The aroma is fruity along with some caramel and smoke. It pours a mostly transparent amber with some faint haziness and a small off-whit head. The flavor starts with caramel and fruit with a lightly smoked finish. Overall the flavors seem to be watered down. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. golubj (1275), Sunnyvale, California, USA Dec 18, 2007 Draft at the Blind Tiger. Reddish brown with a thick off-white head. Sweet malt aroma, slightly toasted. Flavor is not outstanding, but decent for the style and pretty much as expected. Mouthfeel was alright also. drewbeerme (2223), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 14, 2007 bottle. pours dark amber with white head. nose is very sweet grainy, touch of b.o. and banana, and peats. strong flavor of peats, touch of smoked meat, sweet toffee, oh man, the sweetness mixed with the odd smoked flavor is almost sickening. this needs to be a lot drier inorder for it to work. thin body. alcohol is hidden. the more i drink it the more i get used to it. its not a bad beer really it hits on what most smoked scotch ales do but it just never comes together. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Dec 12, 2007 Date: 12/01/2007
