Poured a hazy reddish brown color with a small, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malts, light citrus, nuts, and peat. Taste of sticky caramel malts, peat, nuts, and low bitterness. Some alcohol in the finish.

Dark red color with very little head. The aroma was a disturbing slightly sour banana. Kind of sour malt taste with a bitter finish. Some caramel and a pinch of smoke. Not a normal Scotch ale at all.

(Stockholm Beer Festival 2006) Amber, offwhite head. Roasted aroma, almost a bit smoked, malty and fruity with some nutty notes. Malty and nutty flavor, some butter. Strong but smooth and with a pleasant finish.

[Bottled. Stockholm Beer Festival] Hazy brown colour, white creamy head. Bit ashy in aroma with notes of caramel and milk chocolate. Thick and malty, sweetish, with notes of almonds and prune. Smooth mouthfeel, medium to big body.

Bottle. Pours a deep copper-red with an average size diminishing creamy off-white head. Nice aroma of peat smoke, caramel malt, fruit, brown sugar and hops. Flavour of toasted caramel malt, smoke and fruit along with notes of brown sugar and nuts. Quite decent smoky bitter finish. Medium bodied. I really enjoyed this, a little underrated methinks.

Pours a deep brown with ruby red when held to the light. Smaller off with creamy head that left light lacing. Aroma of prunes, raison caramel and light hops. Flavor of dark fruits, some wood, light smoke, caramel, sweet malts...if this had a touch more smoke in the flavor and especially the aroma I would have loved it. Still a good brew though.

Copper with ruby highlights. Aroma is initially oxidized with some sour and strange fruit cocktail. Taste isnt that bad though, however its thin bodied. Nice warming alcohol sensation though but those damn off flavors. Wish I could put my finger on what it is.

Bottle. Medium sized ivory fizzy head that mostly diminished, poor lacing, transparent, fizzy, fast-rising carbonation, and a reddish brown hue. Malty, caramel, sweet, toasty, and smokey nose. Flavor was sweet malt, caramel and smokey. Smooth, thin mouthfeel. Light body.
