Bottle-The pour left no head and gave the beer an odd sort of appearance, some carbontation but no head, something was just missing. The color was a rich brown. The aroma was malty and with caramel highlights. The tasted followed the same with some sweetness in the taste and a subdued bitter finish. Produce place, 2.29

Pours a hazy amber brown. The nose is malts, and hints of chocolate. Comes across the palate as a little over carbonated. The flavor is rather weak, similar to soda water. Has little to no after taste. This was a huge disappointment.

Aroma is very chocolatey, with the color of milk chocolate. Somewhat of a sweet flavor with a pleasant aftertaste. Very good.

16 oz bottle. Pours a caramel color with hints of amber in the highlights. There is a cream colored head that fades a little fast and doesn’t produce much lacing either. Aroma is sweet and nutty not a ton of complexity to it. Flavor is a sort of grainy, malty thing with toasty note to it. The carbonation is low and the mouthfeel is a touch on the watery side. I was hoping more from this beer but as a whole I wasn’t completely let down. Not bad but it is not my first choice for brown ales.

Truly a perfect looking pour, deep amber color with a lacey white head. Sweet hoppy aroma with toasted nut undertones. Unfortunately that is where the compliments end. The taste was quite watery with no real distinctive flavor and the finish was anything but memorable, leaving a stall taste in the mouth. This very much reminded me of British pub beers that have very little carbonation and are low in alcohol. On a hot day this might quench my thirst, but would never leave me satisfied.

I didn’t much care for this in 1985 when Sprecher first started in Milwaukee.
I still do not much care for it. Watery, light malt.

Bottle purchased at Corral Liquors in Granite City, IL. Pours a hazy orange-brown with a dense, frothy beige head that settles to a thin cap at the surface. The nose is fairly muted but is notably fruitier than most browns that I’ve tried: lightly toasted caramel malt backed by a mixed berry fruitiness that somehow makes me think of the Bartles & James wine coolers of the late 80s/early 90s (only not as cloyingly sweet). On the light side of medium-bodied the mouthfeel is quite soft with super-fine carbonation and a lightly astringent toasted finish. The flavor more-or-less follows the nose with the addition of a touch of hop bitterness at the finish. This is an interesting rendition of the style; it’s quite drinkable but ultimately forgettable.
