COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in the northern style of an English ale. This light brown ale has a nice caramel and toasted malt flavor, combined with a fresh hoppy aroma that is slightly fruity. This is nicely complimented by a subtle bitterness that rounds out the palate.

Bottle. [Great two day tasting session @ Papsoe] Small fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished. Spare lacework. Light cloudy amber color. Aroma of light bread, grain, caramel, fruit and a hint of hops. Over the palate light feel of citrus, hint of apricot and peach. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation with a hint of dryness. Moderated sweet flavor with light bitterness. Light sweet cookie with a hint of acidic finish.

16 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy orange/brown with a diminished off-white head. Caramel malty aroma. Flavour is slight herbal, mild honey like note in a caramel malt base. Finish is light spiced but mainly persisting caramel malt.

This ale poured a nice dark red colour with a big creamy off white head. To the nose the scents included dirty hair, dough, earth??? first taste was smooth and malty with the main taste being the malt flavour. Slightly watery but yet slightly oily mouthfeel. Odd, but not bad. The palate has the smallest flavour of hopps/bitterness taste. Not bad but the smell is really odd.

From the bottle. This is a solid, very drinkable, tasty beer that is very English and almost rather like an earthy English bitter as much as a brown ale. The appearance isn’t much. It is a nice red-brown but has a very thin, fizzy tan head that immediately dissipates into bubbly fizz, elaving nothing. The aroma is malt, toasty, yeasty bread, a hint of nuts. The taste is a little earthy, with a faint sour hint, some sweetness, a faint hint of bitterness, with traces of toffee, nuts, and more wehat bread with a mild grain aftertaste. It’s quite fizzy for the style, which lends some interest but also detracts as it’s a little too much. It’s pleasant and tasty, very easy to drink and pleasant, but not exciting. It strikes me as rather similar to Young’s St. George’s or a weaker, mild Hobgoblin, although I’d have to taste them together to be certain.

Bottle. Poured a red brown with a small off white head. Malty aroma was a little off (rank) with some caramel and nut notes. Taste is crisp and made of caramel malt and just a hint of burnt malts. Finish is a slight burnt malt flavor and pretty pleasant. Drinkable but not lovable.

Pours a dark reddish brown with creamy head. Aroma is earthy and toasted malts. The flavor is nutty, somewhat buttery, and caramel. The bitterness is slight and finishes a bit watery. Overall has a good taste about it. I would call this a Bitter before a brown ale.

Bottle. Pours Reddish orange brown, and got a beautiful creamy toffee colored head. The aroma is malts, caramel, and hint of raisin. The taste is malts, caramel, hops and lightly toasted nut. The finish is a tad dry with a light hop and fruit with a hint of chocolate flavor lingering. The feeling on the mouth is thin, but not watery.
