COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in the northern style of an English ale. This light brown ale has a nice caramel and toasted malt flavor, combined with a fresh hoppy aroma that is slightly fruity. This is nicely complimented by a subtle bitterness that rounds out the palate.

16 oz bottle from Sandy’s Liquors. Nose of caramel and toastiness. Clear cherry brown with a medium beige head. Flavor is caramel, toasted wheat, and light background bitterness.

Bottle. Clear reddish amber pour with a smaller white head. Aroma is a funky toffee. Lighter palate with some carbonation. Taste is a slightly watery caramel and toffee. OK, about what I was expecting.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2011 Aroma is caramel, toffee, and nutmeg. Appearance is a murky brown. The flavor is malty but you know what? This is like a Newcastle clone but I like Newcastle.

Bottle. My bottle reads "Sprecher Pub Brown Ale." Pours a medium brown with a small fizzy off white head. Aroma and flavor are fairly sweet, not very nutty, some caramel, some fruity esters. Light palate. Fairly tasty and easy drinking -- i.e., a pub ale.

Pours a chestnut brown color with an aroma of nuts, hops, and a faint hint of fig. Some caramel, toasted malt and nuts in the flavor. Kind of bland and empty. One of the lesser quality beers from this brewer.
