Brewed in the northern style of an English ale. This light brown ale has a nice caramel and toasted malt flavor, combined with a fresh hoppy aroma that is slightly fruity. This is nicely complimented by a subtle bitterness that rounds out the palate.

On tap at the Middleton brewpub - Pours copper with an off-white head. toasted bready malt with a bit of milkiness. Taste is the same--light, toasted bread, a little marmalade, and some subtle nuttiness. Pretty light-bodied with a bit of fizzy carbonation.

This pub brown ale pour a medium dark brown color. It starts out with a heavy taste of malted barley. It has a very complex flavor but finishes very smoothly. Probably not going to be an award winner but still a good beer to try!

Draft at Sprechers in Lake Geveva. Pours, well, brown with tan head. Sweet, Carmel nose...smooth and sweet...browns are pretty much good but not great...and this one is pretty much like that.

This is a light, drinkable brown ale. It is simple and smooth with a malty finish. It’s got a light feel to it.

Got this at merchant st bistro; big thanks to brad, the dude. $2.50 for a bottle as pictured. Pour is nice iced tea lookin thing with a head composed of rather large bubbles. Smell is clean and english. Taste is not bad. Smooth almost creamy thing happening here. Yes, gets a tad soapy in the middle. Does some smearing co2 in there. Wants to get clying but aint.

On tap at Sprecher Restaurant in Middleton, pours a clear dark amber light brown with no head, slight malt aroma, the flavor is again of very slight malt and some chocolate, very thin mouthfeel, really did not enjoy this one at all

16 oz bottle from the brewery (Glendale, WI). Surprised I’ve never had this, it sounds right up my alley. Pours a rich deep copper brown, light haze, healthy fiery glow on the edges. A frothy tannish head sits atop and settles to a firm layer, ok lacing overall. Like the color. Aromas are mellow sweetness, touches of earthy brown malts, caramel, and biscuits. A gentle waft of toast, earthy dry hops. A faint spice, biscuits, and mellow sweetness mix with dry toast, biscuits. Simple yet inviting. Initial is medium bodied offering a subtle thickness up front. Brown malts, touches of toffee, toast, and biscuits. Mellow dry florals, more earthy brown malts with kisses of faint cocoa, dry toast. Some mellow sticky toffee. Really nice vibe on this sessioner, offering toast, earth, and that lingering sweetness into the back. Gentle spice, faint dryness, but that touch of sweetness and thickness sticks, mellow cocoa elements, making the beer a bit memorable. A sweeter brown, yet inviting. Simple but enjoyed.
