3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-amber color with a lots of minuscule floaters and a medium sized creamy orange-tan head that left decent lacing. The aroma was malty caramel, dark fruits and bread. The flavor was sweet and malty bread, caramel and faint vague fruits. Medium length sweet malty bread and fruit finish. Medium body and smooth. Pleasant.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
On tap at the Middleton Sprecher Pub - Pours dark amber with a white head. Nose is nail polish, sharp malt, bitter grassy hops. Real sharp taste, too, with bitter maltiness that borders on nail polish and bitter, grassy hops on the finish. Mellow bubbles in the medium body, but this one is done in by the horrible nail polish note.

January 19, 2013 - bottle shared by BVery. Brownish orange pour with some head. Head foamed up quick with a light swirl. Aroma of malt and hops. Taste was the same, maybe a combo of citrus and piney hops. Taste was a bit stale.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cloudy dark orange(un-red.)Short head leaving a thin ring.
Some bread and burt carmel aroma, slight wood. Some citrus.Dry alcohol.
Taste is crisp, tangish, citrus hops/bitter.Some smooth slickness with carmel notes, some yeast, dryness, dry finish.Long bitter dry grassywith grapefruit.Carmel/vanilla taste. Lacking some roastyness I like in ambers. Seems like they were trying to make a hoppy red ale. The more I drink it and warms the more I dont like it. This may be too dry, like they threw in a bunch of sugar to make it. Drinkability seems good, but also alcoholy too.Not too great.
Pretty shure it has oxidation also, just like the black ipa.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilburs Foco a while back. Clear, burnt orange appearance with a light brown head. Mild diacetyl, toasty, mild caramel malty, somewhat piney/herbal hoppy aroma. Yikes- notes of diacetyl and DMS - cooked veggies, butter- along with toasted malts and earthy, slightly piney hoppy flavor. Not good at all.
