Pours a deep dark black body with a big old tan creamy top. Lots of lacing, with plenty of aroma and flavors. Coffee, toffee and carmel aromas. Flavors are the same with a strong nutty roasted malted character. little carbonation, but that was cool. Great beer packed with tons of flavor- very glad i picked this one up! :)

bottle by way of stine... pours fairly black with a cafe americain colored head that fades to a film. black raisins and dates hit the nose first... followed by chocolate, sweet roasty malt, floral (yeast or hops?), some ash and lactose. a bit sweet on the palate with a tart cherry-like finish... flavors of chocolate, grain, molasses, fudge brownies, raisin nut bread, wood and cream. the aftertaste is coffee-like and some walnut cream. light to medium bodied, a bit acidic and high prickly carbonation but still quite slick and soft.

16oz. Bottle: Aroma of roasted malts, soy sauce, some chocolate, some nuts, and a hint of alcohol. Poured black in color with a small, dark brown head that disappeared quickly. Opaque. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of roasted malts, vanilla, chocolate, soy sauce, cream, and some coffee. Medium body. Smooth, oily texture. Average carbonation. Vanilla and soy sauce finish.

Dark brown and relatively flat-looking. Nutty, slightly chocolatey nose. Fudgey, nutty taste is slightly syrupy. Really thin. Please just call it some other kind of stout and it will be viewed more favourably.

Dark brown, cappuccino colored head with minor lacing. Flavors are black coffee, roasted malt, caramel sugar. Somewhat sweet for an Imperial stout. Body is actually fairly light for the style. Finishes with a bit of spice. Hmm, this reminds me more of a really good porter than an imperial. That being said, still not bad.

Pours a black ale with tan-colored head. Aroma is thick roasted malts with coffee undertones. Flavor is light licorice with definite coffee undertones. The sugar flavors have definite ouzo quality. Body is light to medium with light carbonation. Strong beer but lacking anything special in taste.

Pours black with a nutty head. Aroma is very sweet and sugary (licorice), lightly roasted with a good touch of coffee. ABV at 7.9% is slightly low for a Russian Imperial Stout. A good beer none the less.

Bottle. Pours near black with a fizzy brown head. Raosted malt and coffee bean aroma. Medium body. Flavor has roasted and smoked malt with a woody note. Good, but not great.
