Jun 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours near black with a fizzy brown head. Raosted malt and coffee bean aroma. Medium body. Flavor has roasted and smoked malt with a woody note. Good, but not great.

Jun 8, 2008 Brown, almost black with a quickly diminishing tan head. Aroma of peat, molasses, licorice, roasted malts and caramel. Taste of caramel, molasses with a little chocolate and roasted malt character as well. Body is a little over carbonated. It’s okay, not sure I’d have it again though.

May 28, 2008 Bottle. Been wanting to try this for some time now. Black withsmall fizzy milk chocolate head. Aroma was of light coffee, chocolate, dark fruit, maple, and light vanilla. The taste was the same with smooth taste and nice sweetness.

May 13, 2008 Bottle. Had to save it for the artwork. Pours black with creamy thick tan head that disipates into the beer. Flavor is chocolate, malt, coffee, and licourish. Alcohol is well masked.

May 10, 2008 Circa 2007 bottle. Pours a very very dark black with a looser tan head. Flatter nose, a bit of acidity. Some sweetness. A bit of roast with small chocolate. Low viscosity. Small carbonation. Oddly smoky. Sweeter alcoholic roast. Small chocolate. Creamier. Lingering smokey chocolate. Interesting. I must say there’s more than a passing resemblance to bacon.

Apr 30, 2008 Updated: Apr 26, 2009Dark brown with reddish tint. Was quite good at room temperature. Thanks Radek. Chocolate and malt offset and controlled the bitterness. Abve average mouthfeel. Drinkable. Had the "reserve edition" second time and most drinkable.
