Creamy, malty, and full-bodied, the Big Gruesome Stout is scary good. The intense, roasty flavor comes from two types of chocolate malt and raw cocoa nibs. The stout is then aged on whole vanilla beans and more raw cocoa nibs to enhance the chocolate flavors. Rich peanut butter is introduced throughout the entire brewing process to make this stout even more Gruesome.here is the deScription:

What a shocker that this is 8.5 abv. Drinking from sampler at the Taproom. I was about to rate this sweet stout and then I see its an impy stout that just tastes like a sweet stout with peanut butter and chocolate. Its sweet from the adjuncts not from sugar. Once you get past the peanut butter and chocolate, its actually a dry finish, a bit minerally, light roast. he adjuncts really hide the any possibly acidity or alcohol but I am not sure these are present anyway. I am not a fan of gimmicky adjuncts but this is done well. Its not a Southern Tier like diabetes job, I don’t actually love peanut butter but this works well in this beer. I would say, if I were to drink a peanut butter, chocolate fondue, gimmicky, impy stout, this would be the one.

Drank at Malou’s goodbye party 27-9-2015. Okay beer, but not that great. Does not have that much taste, a bit weak.

i like peanut butter and chocolate but usually don’t like these types of beer. this is an exception it is full in the body and flavor yet not thick. still somewhat beery in the carbonation with a bit of malt.

Dark brown pour, tan head. Nose is big peanut butter, chocolate, roasty. Taste is chocolate, slight peanut butter, roadty, a touch of bittering hops. Thin-medium mouthfeel.

Bottle shared with my wife. Pours a deep black with a thick tan head. A hint of sweet chocolate behind a thick dusty peanut note. Medium bodied, sweet peanut butter, a hint of chocolate. Thins out a bit, cocoa and roast. Long peanut flavor on the finish with some more roast.

Over hyped. There is literally no Peanut butter Flavor and once you strip that off you have a poor example of a Imperial Stout. It is bitter, not hop bitter, but maybe too much chocolate malt bitter. Maybe I would give it another shot, but only if I can find it on tap somewhere. I got a 22 oz bottle and that was $13.00! I can honestly say, I had the worst headache on the planet after drinking this stuff. I would not recommend and it is another example of an over hyped beer.

Bomber to stout glass. Pours black with a mocha colored head that fades quick but leaves decent lace. The aroma is just like a high end peanut butter cup. Lots of chocolate and creamy peanut butter, like Peter Pan peanut butter. The taste is creamy chocolate, roasted peanuts, sweetness, and chocolate malts. It's really good but pretty sweet overall. Good for a dessert beer. Really like this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bomber shared by JohnGonk at Gus’s kids bday party. Poured into baby blue solo cup. Pours black with small creamy tan head. Aroma of dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, and loads of peanut butter. Taste or roasted malt, sour coffee, bad chocolate, and peanut butter powder. A little on the thin side, but decent.
