Pumpkin Ale for Zombies by Springhouse brewery is an excellent seasonal ale. The delightful amber color and nice head pair nicely with the spicy aroma and nutmeg/cinnamon overtones.

Bottle. Pours a deep copper with a light tannish head. Caramel, vanilla, and slight pumpkin pie notes. Medium mouthfeel. Pumpkin spice truly comes out in the flavor. Sweet. Ends with a lingering bitterness.

3.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from Capones. Fairly dark amber with a nice beige head. Good lord what an aroma...sorta reminds me of a light pumpkin cheesecake that makes my mouth water and may be one of the best smelling beers I’ve ever wafted...moderate to high carbonation, mild+ body, semi-sweet and a little thin with a kick of alcohol towards the end. Fairly easy to drink and not overbearing on the spice or the sweetness but after that heavenly aroma the rest of the beer doesn’t measure up.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A little bit different for a pumpkin brew. I thought it had a sweet butterscotch aroma that blended in with the taste as well. Creamy body, sweet taste of butterscotch, some pumpkin. Enjoyable

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a clear orange body with a frothy off-white head that left lots of clingy lace. The nose is rather different than most Pumpkin Ales, lots of vanilla and sweet brown sugar with a decent amount of pumpkin meat. I usually expect lots of cinnamon and nutmeg, but I don’t smell any in here. The flavor is incredibly sweet with loads of brown sugar, lots of vanilla, some spicy clove, and the pumpkin towards the finish. Some really nice graham cracker like maltiness under all the sweetness. Medium bodied and a bit clingy with soft fizzy carbonation. This is an interesting beer. It gets a little tiring on account of all the residual sweetness, but it really is unique among Pumpkin Ales.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
22oz bomber from Capones. Poured a decent looking although slightly a touch thinner looking burnt orange body with a smaller off white soapy head. Aroma is loads of cinnamon, some pie crusts, nutmeg and candles. Body is medium overall with average to lighter carbonation and a drier then expected finish. Flavor of spices, cinnamon and vanilla bread, clove and grains along with some dry grass amaretto. Sort of like this one because its a bit different.

22oz bomber shared by dmac! Thanks Dave!! Pours a clear amber color with a small foamy off white head. Big aroma of cinnamon, followed by nutmeg, light pumpkin, and some floral hops. Taste of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, bready malt, bitter pumpkin, and grassy hops.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Luminous red-tinged atomic orange-amber appearance with a light ring of head. The nose is blasted with moderate doses of sweet vanilla and brown sugar as well as a modicum of hops. The body is of red cream soda, perhaps from too much almond or vanilla extract, annihilating any traces of pumpkin their may have been. Looks like the zombies got to this one and de-pumpkined it before I could get to it.
