Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 23, 2008 Murky amber. Blueberry, woody, appley aroma. Light fruitiness (berry, pear) and some vague chocolate. Decent, if a little bit rough and oily. hopdog (4648), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 14, 2008 750ml bottle shared courtesy of Axilla (and I have another bottle acquired in a trade with Sephiroth!). Poured a medium and cloudy reddish / brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of cherries, pie crust, wood, lightly funky, and caramel. Tastes of cherries, berries, vanilla, wood, and funky. Lightly sweet with a sour finish. Nice. hopscotch (4588), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Sep 10, 2008 Bottle… RBSG ‘08… Cloudy burnt orange ale with a small, creamy, white head. The nose is funky, fruity, woodsy and vinous with an acidic dose of bourbon. Medium to full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Tangy sourmash, bitter alcohol and bretty sourness meld with a warm note of vanilla. Finishes mildly sweet, lightly bitter and a touch tangy. bu11zeye (3780), Frisco, Texas, USA Apr 13, 2008 (750ml bottle) Pours a cloudy deep amber-brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of oak, vanilla, leather, brett, and vinous. Flavor of moderately sour cherry, caramel, and wood with a dry black cherry pit finish. A well crafted sour and one of the best I have had the opportunity to try. goldtwins (3740), Nesconset, New York, USA Apr 7, 2008 Big thanks to beatiefan20k. Poured a slightly hazed amber color with an off-white head. The aroma had some notes of cherry, leather, wood, and a touch of white glue. The flavor had a hint of sweetness to start. Fairly dry finish with a light bitterness.
