Commercial Description:
The beer you are about to enjoy started it's 21 months of barrel aging with Brettanomyces bruxellemsis in the spring of 2005. This combination of wood and yeast is largely responsible for the je ne sais quoi of many Belgian beers. Our 10th Anniversary Barrel Reserve's lengthy aging has resulted in a mahogany colored ale with a distictive Brettanomyces nose, assented with oak from new American oak barrels. Hints of vanilla and sherry-like notes make this beer one to savor. As it warms in the glass, its layers of complexity are further revealed. We hope you enjoy this fine beer. Cheers!

Bottle shared by beastiefan2k. Pours brown with a bit of off-white head. Aroma was oak and some more oak. Couldn’t really find my way past it, which was kind of sad. The taste is similar with buttery oak being the dominant flavor along with a bit of malt and brett. Not as sour as I would’ve liked. A decent beerto be sure, but I guess I must have been missing something.

Murky amber. Blueberry, woody, appley aroma. Light fruitiness (berry, pear) and some vague chocolate. Decent, if a little bit rough and oily.

At Vero. Cloudy red-brown. Brett-filled bouquet. Smooth, gentle, but enthusiastic carbonation. Simple Brett character with some odd meaty notes.

Bottle courtesy of hopscotch. Pours cloudy dark amber with off white head. Sour aroma with some oak. Flavor is brett tarrtness with vanilla, oak and caramel. Medium body with lively carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. A really nice brew.

Wow. Of all the sours in my stash at the time, this was the lowest rated - and I wonder what the hell people were thinking. Hazy amber color with a brief white head. Cherries and sour tart aroma. Tart as all hell body with a little oak amid the brett funk. Spectacular. I only wish I could get more.
