MaxxDaddy (208), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Apr 9, 2008 Bottle shared by beastiefan2k. Pours brown with a bit of off-white head. Aroma was oak and some more oak. Couldn’t really find my way past it, which was kind of sad. The taste is similar with buttery oak being the dominant flavor along with a bit of malt and brett. Not as sour as I would’ve liked. A decent beerto be sure, but I guess I must have been missing something.
Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 23, 2008 Murky amber. Blueberry, woody, appley aroma. Light fruitiness (berry, pear) and some vague chocolate. Decent, if a little bit rough and oily. mcbackus (637), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Aug 20, 2008 bottle courtesy hopscotch: pours a cloudy brown small off white head. arom aof barrel and funky brett, off malt with slight spice small amount of honey also. flavour is a wierd sour flavour that i have yet to have with plenty of bitterness and some oak. an odd beer that is enjoyable to me but hard to pick apart. Beershine (1214), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 20, 2008 At Vero. Cloudy red-brown. Brett-filled bouquet. Smooth, gentle, but enthusiastic carbonation. Simple Brett character with some odd meaty notes. smith4498 (339), Miami, Florida, USA Aug 17, 2008 Bottle courtesy of hopscotch. Pours cloudy dark amber with off white head. BDR (1864), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Aug 14, 2008 Wow. Of all the sours in my stash at the time, this was the lowest rated - and I wonder what the hell people were thinking. Hazy amber color with a brief white head. Cherries and sour tart aroma. Tart as all hell body with a little oak amid the brett funk. Spectacular. I only wish I could get more.
