Draft at brewpub and in bottles. This beer poured a deep, dark brown with a small, off-white head that didn’t last. Very nice dark roasted malt flavor and aroma. Clean and not too heavy on the palate. A very good doppelbock.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a dark brown. Big aroma of roasted malt. Taste was sweet malts up front followed by roasted malt and hop bitterness. Very good.

Pours a nice deep brown color with a healthy off-white head resting on top. Great lacing down the glass. Aroma is nice and sweet malt, with a fairly peppery hop nose. Flavor is very sweet initially, becoming a little astringent for a moment, then a roasted section, and lastly, some grassy hops. Dry finish. Very nice.

Ever-so-slightly cloudy with dark amber body. The aroma is very much filling my nose with fruits and roasted, sweet caramel matls. The flavor is also filled with raisons, figs, caramel and an earthy woodiness. Very pleasant overall, but just slightly too syrupy.

Bottle, thanks to beerhandy - dark amber body with foamy/soapy lace - sweet caramel nose, with a bit of balancing tartness - caramel, nuts and light fruity esters - a bit of peppery spiciness leading to a somewhat bitter finish that keeps the sweetness from overstaying its welcome - pretty darn good.
