Springfield Mueller Hefewiezen

This was clearly distinct from the wheat ale. Color was more orange and it offered no head at all. Nice flavors of cloves and banana. Like the unfiltered wheat, some chemical tastes but just a bit.

Really a top-notch Hefeweizen by any standard. Pours a glowing, cloudy yellow with pillowy white head. Serious clove and fresh banana nose, enticing. Lightly sweet flavor, fruity, with a mild bitterness for refreshment and character. Just well done.

Tap- Not a style that I enjoy often, but this one is pretty good. Pours a hazy whitish gold, decent head. Aroma is very banana and clove. Flavor reflects the banana bread quality in the aroma, as well as sweet wheat malts and a mild hop spice. A good representation of a style that gets more than it’s fair share of mediocre examples.
