2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Cask@Junction Tavern, London. Coppery golden colour with a small head. Aroma is bready, herbal and doughy with some mild cooked vegetables as well. Flavour is rather similar with some doughy notes too.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tasted this in the Salt Cot, Saltcoats (JDW) in June 2007. Cask, handpump dispense. Must be one of the palest Golden Ales in the UK, a very pale straw colour, almost verging on platinum blonde. Noted floral on the nose with elderflower present. Thin but refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts gives a strong juicy citric flavour of tart grapefruit overall. Dusty hop resins add a bitter bite to the short aftertaste - but not too dry nor cloying. Finish is rather light and fragrant with floral resins present in the mouth. A decent session Golden Ale.

Cask at the Bookbinders Arms, Oxford, 06-09-08 Pours pale gold, clean nose but actually also a little bit soapy. This is quite tasty with dry biiter finish. Its ok.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask-conditioned at the Cornubia, Bristol, 16/10/07. Very inoffensive golden ale. Pleasant to look at, with a slight hay aroma. Flavour had some summer fruits before a hint of a dry finish saved the day. Ok.

2.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Cask at Wetherspoons, Milton Keynes. Unusually for this bar, no sign of a sparkler. Still very much on the cold side. No aroma to speak of. A little fruit and a final hoppy bite, but not much else. Watery and disappointing for a Springhead beer.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
A Mes rate:
Gravicask up the Junction. Bland blonde looks (reminds me of a woman I know...) Eggy farty aroma. Oily grill over spill flavour. Fatty and much too eggy. Very poor.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Didn’t note where I had this, and now I can’t remember. Copper orange with a small layer of sudsy white. Slightly farmy aroma with blackberry sweetness. Flavor runs along the same lines, adding a bit of spice and candied oranges. Nice soft mouthfeel. Decent ale, but a bit more depth would make it more compelling.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
In both taste and araoma, cornish sweetish malts, bittering hops though very little taste or aroma off the hops.
