Cask at Hogshead Wolverhampton, very dark brown almost black beer with light tan creamy head. Blackcurrant light malt, semi heavy consistency, quite pleasant and easy on the palate.

On cask at Old Swan (JDW), Uttoxeter. Pours black with tan head. Good aromas of choc, liquorice and biscuit. A good session stout.

Cask-conditioned at the Black & Gold beer festival, the Gryphon, Bristol 2/9/2012. Big, berry fruit and chocolate aroma. Flavour was similar with a dryish finish. Fine.

On cask at the Masons Arms. A black beer with a decent white head. Aroma of roasty malt, chocolate and caramel. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. A lovely dry finish with lingering chocolate. Not bad.
