kwik-lime (160), London, England Nov 26, 2005 Wasn’t too keen at first but really warmed to it throught he pint. Brown in colour, it had a flavour of chocolate, coffee, spices and a little alcohol. A bit unusual and in no way unpleasant.

Nothing particularly belgian about this. Superb broad malty aroma - toasted bread, dark bread at that. Sweet caramel malty body, slightly brown, looking at sour, but not actually going there. Very impressive and interesting brew. davegore (173), liverpool, Merseyside, England Oct 20, 2007 On cask at the ’Freshfield Arms’ near Southport..asked the barman for the darkest beer they had on tap tonight and stumbled upon this gem. Strong aroma of toffee and dark malts, with a full on dry burnt finish. Excellent beer. hughie (2254), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England May 16, 2007 Cask at Wetherspoons, Milton Keynes. Hazy muddy dark brown beer with a white head. Doesn’t look very good. Malt aroma. Grainy, mild malty taste, rounded and pleasant. Yep, it’s a mild. Magic_dave6 (4010), London, Greater London, England Mar 23, 2007 This about as much a belgiun ale as a pilsner. Touch of toast, toffee malts, fruity, dry finish, could do with some sweetness to make it generally a better ale. White head. Some roast aroma. Dark coloured smooth on the palate and hoppy with a crisp and slightly bitter chocolaty flavoured lasting roast finish. Earlier Rating: 2/25/2006 Total Score: 3.4 Cask Handpump at the Cask & Cutler, Sheffield 04/10/2003
Mid brown coloured with some alcohol present. Rich on the palate. Crisp caramel malt finish.
