3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
First tasted this in the Three Judges, Glasgow in September 2004. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale gold in colour with a thin white head. Elderflowers give a fragrant note to the short aroma. Thin refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a digestive biscuit base with juicy clemantine fruit and elderflower cordial. Strong hop prickle detected in the dusty, floral, resiny aftertaste. Finish is sweet with warming golden syrup flavours rolling in the mouth. An excellent session Golden Ale and it reminded me of Badger Golden Best in taste. Well recommended.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask handpump at The Green Dragon, Cambridge. Gold with a foamy head. Citrus, hoppy scent. A bit thin and slightly carbonated. Some stickiness from sugars in the mouthfeel, presumably being the sweet lips. A bitter, dry end makes it well balanced. In the mouth: hops, biscuit malts and a hint of clementines, before a slightly roasted end.

Cask conditioned @ Queens Hotel, Gosport. Citrussy fruity hops are main feature of the aroma but dont completely overwhelm the malt flavours. Slightly sweet with a light hoppy finish.
