The Original is a classic American hard cider. It’s made from three apple varieties rooted in American culture—Red Delicious, Yellow Delicious, and Johnny Gold—picked and pressed by hand in Oregon. A lager beer yeast was chosen to create a cider that perfectly balances sweet and tart with a light, crisp apple flavor and a clean, refreshing finish. The Original is best served over ice to complement the crisp apple flavor and clean, refreshing finish.

Bottle @ home. Clear, pale straw pour without any real foam. Smells of green apple candy, yeast, and pears. Corn syrup, some sugar, and light tartness. Flavor is a bit of lemon and lots of sugar. Corn syrup, sugar, and green apple candy. Light yeastiness. Meh.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours gold. Smells like mild apple skin. Med body or nearly. It’s sort of crisp/tart. Seems to start towards sweet, but never gets there. Finishes towards dry and tart.

Clear pale yellow with no head. Aroma of apple juice and alcohol, no noticeable spices. Very tart and fairly sweet, no spice flavor either. The sourness reminds me of granny Smith apples but the flavor is a little different, perhaps because of the pear juice. Light bodied and weak carbonation.

Bottle. Pours with a pale yellow hued body with a quick to fade head. Aromas of sulfur, light ethyl acetate, vanilla, and mild phenolic rubber. Mostly sulfur, vanilla and apple-pear. Flavors are just off dry not offensive, mild sweet, floral pear and vanilla flavors. Soft acidity and tannin. Lively carb, medium low body.

Pored a light golden yellow, with almost no head. Smells of champagne with hints of apples, taste is not what I expected, sweet, dry with a very sugary after taste. Ther hopped version is much better, but still a decent cider.

Bittersweet, not too fizzy. Maybe it’s a little bit sweet and has a touch of pear-drop about it. A little honey in the finish. Apple forward.

On tap at Whip In. Golden pour. The aroma and flavor feature some nice apple notes with not too much sweetness. Easy to drink. Nice cider.

Clear golden. No head. Has an apple peel aroma. Prerty nice. Not too sweet. It lets you know its a true cider and that’s something I can appreciate.
